Dr. Garofolo's dental office in Rancho Bernardo is 'okay' at best. The office is clean, front desk/customer service is nice, and the location is great. However, Dr. Garofolo's work is too fast paced. He doesn't take enough time to explain exactly what needs to be done before, during, and after treatment. For example, when I got my fillings re-done with resin composite fillings, he didn't explain the pros and cons of going that route (vs. amalgam fillings.) Instead, I had to research everything myself on the internet. Now, I'm experiencing pain on a molar that he replaced a filling on. The same tooth had a hairline crack on it, but Dr. Garofolo didn't address how the filling would react to the crack. I didn't feel any pain on this tooth prior to Dr. Garofolo replacing the filling...After researching online, I found out that, if a tooth is cracked, it's best to have a crown placed on it and not agitate it more by replacing a filling on the tooth.
At this point, I'm undecided on whether or not I will continue to go to his office.
