I am adding this review in an outrage. I had to reschedule a couple of appointments and I never did "not show up" to any of my appointments. I have never been so discusted with the way I was treated when I called to reschedule my teeth cleaning, I was told that I could not reschedule an appointment and to call when I could come in and they would try to get me in that day because I have canceled to much. Overall I think I may have had to cancel/reschedule maybe three times out of the entire time my entire family has gone there. My mother also got told she had alot of cavities when she actually did not! DO NOT GO TO THIS DENTIST!!! The hygienist in particular was running the telephone and was the one who was very rude about the entire situation, even after I tried to explain I needed to reschedule she kept denying me an appointment. We have given this dentist office alot of our money and we have been very good patients, I really felt disrespected and highly pissed off enough to go out and give this place a shout out on how shittily I got treated.

Hygiene rating:

About Hygienist: Every time I got my teeth cleaned I got a very good job done but they have lost my families business because of the way they treated me with such disrespect.

Avoid this dentist! The entire staff pressures you for things you don't need. And they inflate prices, so even after insurance, you are paying exorbitant fees. I am also having to find another dentist because of the damage Spenser did including I now need a root canal because of his shoddy work.

About Hygienist: The most annoying of the entire staff.

Hygiene time: 45

I would never go to another dentist. Him and his staff are the best. They all make you feel like you are part of the family. Love Nancy, she rocks. Came in on her day off to take a look at my tooth that was causing so much pain.

About Front Desk: Love her. She is the sweetest lady EVER...

I am now in my 7th week waiting for a crown. My husband is in his 8th week. Every time we call asking if the crowns have come in they say they will check with the lab and do not call back. They finally "checked" while I was on the phone and say that the crowns are on their way so I made an appointment for tomorrow. I have knee replacements and requested a refill on my antibiotic. As of 6:30 pm tonight they had not called the pharmacy refilling the antibiotic. Dr. Spencer's hygenists have pressured me and my husband to buy flouride trays that our insurance will not cover. They appear to be more interested in selling products than in providing basic care. Dr. Spencer talks A LOT about a bar he is opening with a partner. Every time I've been in his office over the past year the partner has been in the office visiting. Dental care does not appear to be a priority.

About Front Desk: Inept. Fails to return calls. Fails to call in antibiotics that are essential for my health.

About Hygienist: There is a new crew that appears to be more interested in selling products than providing care

I recently changed dental providers due to a change in insurance, and selected Dr Spencer. I had a dental cleaning, and he recommended a crown due to a large filling and fractures in my tooth. The first step of the crown procedure was a bit time consuming, and I've been waiting well over a month for the permanent crown. We are going out of town for Christmas, and if this isn't remedied in the next 2 days, I'll be waiting another 2 weeks. Everyone I've ever talked to said this process usually takes 7-10 days, and this extended time has been very uncomfortable and frustrating. I've paid up front and have little negotiating power. I'm at their mercy. Otherwise, the office is very outdated and low budget. Equipment is very dated. They use paper towels instead of drapes. The hygienist was young and pleasant, but seemed exceeding new at her job. The dentist is older, and talks incessantly about his personal matters (a friend diagnosed with cancer, and a funeral he' s attending this evening). They use a very hard sell technique on dental appliances. The phone often rings without an answer and it's been difficult to reach anyone by telephone on nearly every occasion I've called. I'm changing dentists the moment this is resolved.

I went in for a routine cleaning and was told I had a cavity and needed 12 sealants. When I came back for my filling, I wasn't ready to do the sealants, but they kept pushing them on me. They wanted to do them before I saw the dentist, but I asked about a sore tooth. They then looked at it and were surprised they hadn't seen the staining and decay last visit. They decided to give me a filling on that tooth as well. When they started drilling, they realized the tooth was cracked. They then started talking about how they didn't know what to do and jumped to all the worst case scenarios. They then asked me what I wanted them to do. I was not impressed and am not planning on going back to them after my dental insurance changes in a month. I called a previous dentist for a specialist and dental referral because Dr. Spencer and his staff didn't even refer me anywhere to take care of the cracked tooth. The dentist just didn't seem to be up-to-date on everything, and he relied heavily on the opinions of his hygienists. Didn't inspire confidence in his medical skills.

Very nice casual atmosphere. All employees were very helpful and calm. I had two teeth prepared for crowns. Even though I've been going to dentists every 6 months all my life it is not my favorite thing to do. With Dr. Spencer and his staff it was OK. Was in the office for 4 hours - very little pain. Pricing fair - I'm a healthcare professional and would Highly Recommend Dr. Spencer! - Darrell K.

Dr. Spencer was quite nice at the beginning and his staff was wonderful. He was never extremely professional but more laid back and friendly. I decided to get braces from him and everything was fine until the day I was to get my braces removed. On that visit I expressed concern that there had been movement of 1 or 2 teeth away from the desired positions. When he heard this he began to yell at me, curse at me, and tell me that I could take my beginning molds to a college of dentistry to "See what they think about it.". He wouldn't calm down and tell me why he was so angry. He just kept yelling that I felt entitled and that I should take my molds to the college. If my teeth were the best that they could get, then he should have just said that. I never once said that I was not happy with the treatment or how much better my bite was. In fact, I almost never saw Dr. Spencer. Most of the orthodontic work was done by his extremely competent assistant. It is a shame that she has to work for him. His behavior turned from normal to angry in moments. He is a nice man normally and I hope that he is not having a medical or mental health issue. In the mean time, don't go to him!

About Hygienist: Dr. Spencer's Hygenist is fairly new and I have only seen her once. That one time was a pleasure. Holly is quite nice and professional. She seems like a very competent hygienist.

Dr. Spencer has great chair-side manner, he's been a dentist I believe for over 40 years. Can't comment on cost, because my insurance negotiates those rates. The hygienist are pleasant enough, no harping about this or that. The big downside to this office is the front desk. I've been going there for 6 years, and I don't recall ever (maybe once) getting live person to answer. And about 30% (no exaggeration) they do not call back when you leave a message. The location of the office is the only thing that keeps me from dumping this dentist.
