Arrogant and unapologetic! I was referred to him due to tooth pain near an existing crown. he stated the crown had to redone, which he did an OK job.
When the pain did not go away, he just said to take large amounts of ibuprofen for an extended period and that the pain would resolve itself.
Turns out the tooth next to the crown was cracked, which I suggested he investigate and he brushed off (he knows better, how dare an imbecile suggest he is wrong)
Finally went to another dentist, who are a husband/wife team in Grayslake and amazing, they immediately found the cracked tooth, and by this time the crack went all the way to the gum line. They did the root canal and another crown installed and am pain free!! Finally after getting jacked around for a year by Showers :(

Don't go here! Just today, I had to have a SECOND root canal retreated! Showers initially treated both my maxillary 1st molars, but missed a 4th canal in both. He does not utilize modern technology, just "hopes he got it all."
Don't risk your health by going here!

Dr. Paul Showers is a highly qualified professional who is also a "regular" guy. You can talk to him without hesitation and expect to get honest, direct answers to any of your concerns. His examination and consultation upon your first visit leave you with the feeling that he is right choice for your endodontist issue. He clearly outlines the proposed procedure and the likely outcomes.
His chair-side manner is excellent; very calming with just the right amount of chatter. He and his assistant work quickly and efficiently. The procedure went very well and expectations are high as to a complete success.
The office staff is friendly, yet professional.

Filing Complaint with State Licensing
Unbelievable lack of skills and compassion. Irrevocably damaged teeth and oral structures in not One, but Two family members. One required emergency oral surgery after her "treatment" by Showers. The other is attempting to salvage an inept root canal, and may need an implant. Avoid!!

I woke up in the middle of the night with a toothache and got in to see Dr. Showers immediately the next morning. His expertise identified the source of my pain and literally within minutes I was numb and out of pain! After 30 minutes of painless preliminary work I was out the door. In my case a second pain-free visit was required to complete my root canal treatment. I have had zero problems from this lower back molar since Dr. Showers performed the root canal over a year ago. I have recommended him to many people and they have all been extremely pleased with their results and thanked me for the hookup.
