I have been going to her for a year. Overall the service is good but I always fell tricked by her staff. I make an appointment for cleanning and I get xrays and check up. I understand is for my own good, but I would like to know it in advance. Obviosly she charges my health insurance, so even without knowing I spend all my limit in her (so every year she get 3000 dollars from me), so if I have an emergency it will come from my pocket.
Finally everything is a cavity for her, so she found 11 (each costs 350) I went to a different dentist and she said that most of them shoudl not be considered cavities, but just use cellant.....
Then there is the obcession with deep cleanning, which costs 800 and my insurance does not covers everything....they wnat to do it every year and suck as much money as they can....Last year they made an appointment that I thought was for a filling but no it was for the deep cleanning without my knowledge....It is just a complete lack of communication. Maybe that is normal, but I think they just take advantage of the insurance company.....
I willl change dentists!

Both Dr. Galerneau and her staff and top-tier dental professionals who seem to love their work. They're professional and efficient without sacrificing the patient's comfort -- the first dentist I've met in my 46 years that I actually wanted to go back to.

Excellent work. Perfectly matched crowns. I'm extremely apprehensive about dental work but found my experiences completely painless and relaxing. The doctor and staff always make me feel comfortable. Even to the point I no longer need to use nitrous gas.
The office is extremely clean and well maintained. The view from the patient chairs is very nice overlooking the bay bridges from the 14th floor.
I find the office is conveniently located as it is on the corner of El Camino and 4th Ave. in downtown San Mateo.

I went to Dr Galerneau twice a year for my cleanings for three years and at the end it felt like she knew each of my teeth individually. Very professional, focuses on the important essentials, never ever tried to flog extra treatments or unnecessary procedures. Staff is very good, always calls a day before as a reminder. If I wasn't relocating Dr Galerneau would be my dentist for the rest of my life!

Dr Galerneau is the best! She is very professional and friendly. Her office is nice as well.
