I have been a patient of Dr. Shiflet's for many years. He is, without a doubt, the best dentist in the DC Metro area. All other dentists that I've encountered are more concerned with growing their business practice by charging exorbitant rates and patient care comes a distant second. Dr. Shiflet is all about doing what is best for the patient. His work is excellent. He genuinely cares about his patients. He educates you about what is going on with your teeth. And, his rates are very reasonable -- actually, inexpensive compared to most others. Most important, and I'll say it again, he does excellent work.

I called to get some information regarding becoming a patient in December 2013. Dr. Shiflet himself picked up the phone which was odd, and before I could even get a sentence out he abruptly cut me off and said that he was with a patient and didnt have time. Not a good first impression and I will NOT be calling back based on that. I cannot speak on his skill level whatsoever and he may in fact be a great dentist. But based on 1st impressions he came off as rude and will NOT get my business. Maybe he was just having a bad day, I don't know but he's lost a patient wanting very extensive cosmetic work.

Dr. Shiflet is amazing, very thorough and never any excess pain. His rates are cheap and his "chair side" manors are top notch!

Extraordinarily professional and competent. Doesn't recommend unneeded treatments. Very pleasant personality. Genuinely caring.

He's the best. Definitely small town dentist in big city. Takes 6:45 a.m. appointments! Does his own work. Knows his stuff.

Personal service still exists! Dr. Shiflet is kind, thorough, does his own work, gives good and practical advice. A small town dentist in a big city -- wow.

Dr. Shiflet reminds me of my dear, old family dentist--he does all his own work, is extremely knowledgeable, and not at all expensive. He stresses prevention and does not push cosmetic procedures. The office is no frills--no hygienists and no insurance processing--but if you prefer solid, skilled, old-fashioned dentistry to glossy magazines and perky attendants, you will like Dr. Shiflet just fine.
