Transferring to another dentist. Every time I had a procedure done it would end up costing me way more than what I was told. Poor customer service in the billing department. Debbie seems to always have an attitude when you talk her. Really liked Dr. Kirk but getting tired of feeling like re front office is trying to rip you off. Last straw was drawn when I was told 3 days before my appointment I would have to pay an additional $120 when I was originally told my last payment would be $140.

Dr. Barkett treats patients with one on one respect, like you are a person he knows and actually cares about. You never go in his practice and feel like cattle being herded in and out. He takes the time to listen.
About Hygienist: I've had three hygienist's over the years, and always been disappointed when one left and another takes over, but then relieved when the new one is just as good as the old one. I guess over twenty year period, only three is pretty good.

Dr. Barket is the best! He has been treating me for the past 16 years and now he treats my children as well. His staff is always helpful and my experiences have always been pain free!!!! My hygienist is fantastic! I have recommended several friends over the years and they are still patients.

Dr. Barket is the best dentist I have ever been too. He cares about his patients, is trustworthy, is professional and is inexpensive. He is friendly and we always have good conversation. He is thourough with his observations and findings and communicates them to me very well. As far as I am concerned he really under charges his patients. His office staff is always friendly and eager to help. My wife has been using Dr. Barket her whole life and is very happy with him and his services performed. She raved about him and this is the reason I started going to him and I am happy I took my wife's advice.
About Hygienist: The hygenist is always friendly and does a very good job cleaning my teeth. She communicates anything she finds very clearly and makes me feel very comfortable.

Absolutely the best in Jacksonville. Fixed a tooth others said needed an upper root canal, has been fine for 4 years, price is right especially if you don't have insurance.

Dr. Barket has been my dentist since I have had teeth! He is the kindest, gentlest, nicest dentist ever! I hear horror stories from other people and it is hard for me to relate. I have NEVER been in pain with Dr. Barket. He has NEVER done unneccessary or costly procedures. Everyone ALWAYS compliments me on my smile! He has people working in his office who have been there as long as I have been going there if that is anything. I am always surprised at how inexpensive everything I get done there. I don't think he has raised his rates ever (at least not that I have noticed). I am so HOPING that he NEVER EVER retires!

My family and I have been patients of Dr. Barket for 36 years. More than any other medical professional we've delt with, he truely places his patients health ahead of all else. His clinic is modest, but well equipped and he is always considerate of the costs to his patients. We've been very fortunate to have him for our dentist for all these years. Dave Dollarhide

The office and equiptment was outdated. At the time that I went (summer 2007) the office didn't even have a computer or a fax machine. I didn't even get seen by a dentist when I went in for my routine cleaning. I was told that I would be called back in if the doctor wanted to do an exam after reviewing my x-rays. It wasn't the most pleasant experience.
About Hygienist: My hygienist was good and very professional, but my husbands hygienist butchered his mouth with the dental floss.

His assistants are great but Dr. Barket always seems grumpy & angry. I've been going there 17 years, along with my entire family & he's never been super friendly. Also, make sure you are on time for your appointments because they will not hesitate to charge you. I mean...don't even be five minutes early! They want you there 15 min or more before your appointment. I'm actually planning to go somewhere else. As far as I'm concerned this place doesn't have much going for them. Crappy building, long wait time, a dentist who is not friendly, expensive: Don't recommend this dentist at all.
