WORST experience EVER! I keep relieving it in my mind - something out of the twilight zone. I came in for a consultation to see if I need a root canal and all tools were laid out to perform a root canal. I told them I was there for a consultation and their response was, "We have 2 hours - we can go ahead and do it this evening - it was 4:30 pm." I was very stressed and the assistant was not professional and didn't understand how to mirror behavior to calm me down. Instead she kept making jokes, including one about sharing the alcohol with me they have in the back. She kept running back and forth between my chair and the Drs office trying to explain things I was telling her about what I was feeling. I finally asked why the Dr. didn't come in and talk to me. He finally did and was unprofessional - he even walked out saying to his staff, "You've got this one under control." I guess I asked too many questions? After going to a different endodontist, it turns out I don't even need a root canal! The whole experience was crazy and weird. Be careful with this one!

I had a very pleasant experience! There was no pain, and I was falling asleep in the chair. The Dr. was very clear about what was happening during the procedure. There were no real complications. Understand that most people who have positive experiences these days don't take the time to leave feedback. He does root canals just about every day of the year which means there are many many many people who get the procedure done, had a wonderful experience and didn't feel the need to leave feedback online.
About Front Desk: Very friendly, when my follow up general dentist were dragging their feet on booking me to follow up the root canal, Dr. Newsom's staff made a call and got me in!

I had a root canal done by Dr. Newsome about 3 years ago. It was rather painful and continued to hurt for weeks. I went back several times and he said it was fine, it would calm down. It never did. I had to take antibiotics several times to deal with an abscess. Finally I went to a different endodontist who told me the root canal was poorly done and had been infected for years as some of the root was left in. I had to have the entire thing done AGAIN. It cost almost $1700 additional after the $1500 for the original. The new dentist showed me the before and after of the roots and infection and I was amazed at how long I dealt with it as it was clearly screwed up. What bothers me the most is that I went back to Dr. Newsome several times and he said don't worry about it, it's in my head, even when I TOLD him it hurt! I was very disappointed and would go somewhere else if I were you!!

This Dentist never showed for the appointment. There was no return call. Sad that people have your premedicate and drive all the way from Cumming to Alpharetta and don't answer their pages or come to their appointments.

Do not go to this doctor!!! He is so outdated on everything. Their customer service sucks!!!! The area looks like an old apartment complex.
About Front Desk: The receptionist which is the doctors mother is the most rudist witch I have ever spoken to or dealt with. Extremely unprofessional and she should not be running the front desk. She should be ashamed of herself at her age. Don't waste your time. Go somewhere where you will be treated like a human being!!!

BEWARE!!! his way or the highway, went in for pain, he proceeded to lay me back and put my head upside down, I asked if he could raise it up.. WITHOUT even trying he said I can't work like that!! Did not even try to make me feel comfortable.. wouldn't even try to adjust in a position that would work for both of us.. VERY INSENSITIVE!!!

I went for a root canal and have been in pain ever since! I went to see him afterwards and he refused to own up to his mistake. BEWARE!!!!!!

When my dentist suspected I needed a root canal, she referred me to Dr. Newsome. While I wasnt thrilled with the idea of going to a different provider to get my tooth taken care of, it was worth the extra effort. Dr. Newsome and his staff were fast, friendly, and professional. When I shared that I was going out of town the following week, they ensured that the required work was completed before I left town. Dr. Newsome was excellent at pain management and I had almost no discomfort during the procedure (and aside from soreness, little afterwards). He also anticipated any aftercare needs I might encounter while out of town and provided additional support that left me feeling very secure. Great job!

I had a root canal done. It was honestly, practically pain free, starting with the initial shots. Dr. Newsom was very gentle and talked throughout the process giving little warnings like, a little shaking on the tooth, etc.
I'd take my kids to him if they ever needed his type of services, and I'd never consider going anyplace else after having been to him.
It's worth noting that his assistants and entire staff are very friendly and professional, also.

Dr. Newsom did a difficult root canal for me and he was very professional, very caring and gentle and made sure I was comfortable during the whole process. I would recommend him 100%.
