Dr. Koike has been my dentist since I moved to Oahu. He's the most gentle dentist who ever did any work on my teeth. My family loves him. He is a great dentist.

Dr. Koike lacks professionalism. He is not good at communicating or returning calls for messages left on his "emergency" line. I called on a Wednesday and his sassy assistant called me back on a Monday to tell me he was out of town. They weren't in office on Wednesay, but were there on Thursday and Friday and didn't receive my message until Monday. The cleaning I had done was ok. After he cleaned my teeth he offered me a glass of water that had been sitting there the whole time. I went in because I needed a root canal finished. I expressed this need over the phone when making my appointment. When I arrived, Dr. claimed he was unaware of this need and we needed to reschedule. My tooth was in pain when I arrived and felt worse when I left. The office was less than impressive, very dusty. I could not get a straight answer about how long Dr. Koike has been in practice. His response was "about twenty years". He doesn't even have the resources in his office to perform a root canal, he has to borrow them from someone else. I do not recommend this dentist to anyone who is actually looking to get their teeth fixed or maintain good oral health.

He's honest and not a sales man. He managed to save one of my molars, so I'll give him credit for that.
