The worst dentist. Her and her staff always performed a root canal which was extremely expensive (and did not provide me any other options) and also had the gall to charge my insurance company for work she never did for 6 months. I reported her and she called me personally saying, "I do not think we should allow you in our office anymore." DO NOT

Dra. Emma Gonzalez is one of the best dentist that we ever seen for the last 3 years. The way she treated her patient is exceptional, she is kind and passionate to all of those who enters her clinic, from the receptionist to her dental staff... Before doing the procedure will explain everything, the cost, kind of procedure she gonna do, plus how much the insurance will going to cover.. She has the kind of patient and dentist professional relationship that most dentist dont have...The daughter is also a very good dentist especially for the young ones..

Her office is along Harlem Avenue. It could use live, flowering plants in planters outside and open /or use glass blocks on the portion of the office for the natural light to go through inside the office. The office looks tired, small, and has a musty smell. The TV is constantly on Filipino channel. Otherwise Dr. Gonzalez does a good job, an expert in her field.

About Hygienist: Hygienists in this office except Dr. Gonzalez need to work on their gentle hands, and thoroughness in cleaning teeth.

Emma Gonzalez, DMD did my root canal in 1993 when I was 6 months pregnant with my son. Now my son who is 14 years old is also her patient. Pain-- She managed my pain well. Cost/Billing/Insurance help--Depends on one's insurance, she accepts what insurance pays her with no out of pocket charges, except for my son's monthly maintenance brace management. The billers are knowledgeable and know how to navigate the dental insurance system. Chair-side manners: She is soft spoken, gentle, I am very satisfied the way she cleaned my teeth. However, there is a hygienist in the office whose work needs improvement, i.e., thoroughness (flossing as part of routine 6-month dental care was not done), not splattering water on your face during dental cleaning. Return calls to messages left in the office are on the slow side. One time, my call was returned after my son was already seen by the hygienist when it should have been returned before he was seen in the office.
