Excellent dentist with up to date facilities and trained hygienists. He uses state of the art technology but often treatment costs seem higher than other dentists in the area. Also, great views of lake and bean, but being downtown on Michigan Avenue, street parking is impossible and lot parking difficult and expensive. Some Sat. hours. Costs seem on the high side in comparison with other dentists in Chicago and also given what insurance companies customarily contract for with member dentists. Also, he has "unbundled" the normally flat rate costs of some services, like a temporary crown, or office fluoride treatment given at a routine cleaning, leading to extra unexpected charges, at times explained in a less than transparent seeming explanation. Doctor may charge separate for seeing a patient at a routine cleaning. However, we like that he often does cleanings. That being said he is really a great cosmetic dentist, meticulous, a perfectionist, very clean, caring, knowledgeable, professional, aesthetically aware, passionate and up to date. He is also a family man who enjoys what he does and does it well. We recommend him but one should discuss procedure costs, maybe seek written pre-treatment estimates if worried about fees.
About Front Desk: 3 - Good, at times, especially with newer front desk staff, payment seemed the focus upon leaving even with good insurance coverage and a long term relationship with office

Dr. Sana is an amazing dentist; I get compliments on my crowns quite often, and they look beautiful and natural. Dr. Sana took my case after another dentist had ruined my teeth. I was impressed with his level of concern, and that he was confident and professional enough to handle both the medical/dental issues and the aesthetics equally well. His prices are well worth the peace of mind I have achieved going to his office; previously I was terrified of dental visits.

The slowest tool in the dental universe. If you need anything simple done, no problem. Anything else, forget it. 6 months (and $2K) for him to figure out he couldn't help my problem and then refer me to someone else. $95.00 for the visit to tell me that.
I paid $2K for great hygienists and a great cleaning.

The office is beautiful and Dr. Sana and the hygenists are all very knowledgable and attentive. However, it is on the expensive side -- I paid about 5 times more than usual (based on what my insurance covered) for a standard cleaning/checkup.

Dr. Sana is a great dentist. He is also amazingly gentle and I feel relaxed there and rarely feel pain (even with shots!). He is also very personable and once saw my out of town friend on a Saturday with very little notice and made a referral that same day for a root canal that my friend desperately needed! He takes what he does very seriously and always devotes extra time (himself) to checking on teeth and doesn't delegate everything to his hygentist. I recommend him highly!

Dr. Sana really knows what he is doing. Compared to my previous dentist he seemed to be light years ahead in training, technology, and how to deal with patients.
He is a perfectionist and this sometimes causes appointments to last longer than you would expect. But it is worth the final result.
