Dr. Cooney is excellent. I have been a patient for over 5 years and have had only excellent dental care performed on my teeth. Excellent preventative care performed as well.

I saw Dr Cooney in my childhood (age 12-14) when her office was in the Baum building downtown Danville. my overly-trusting mom would let me go to the dentist unattended and trust the "doctors orders". Cooney was not only abusive in the respect that she took advantage of my mothers' trust and was able to perform and bill insurance for unnecessary procedures, but she was also verbally and mentally abusive to me. As she drilled into what I am now convinced were perfectly good molars, she would tell me to "get over it" and there was no way I was feeling anything while I writhed and cried in pain and discomfort meanwhile she would shame me for having such unhealthy teeth. she has ruined me for life in dental care- and I felt compelled to post this recently after an old classmate was asking for advice on dentists for her kids- I am shocked to hear Cooney is still practicing. AS an example - at that age, can you imagine going for a checkup, having 4 fillings done, and 6 months later being told you needed another 6 fillings!?!? now, because of the surface area on some of those teeth she saw as gold mines, I and my dental insurers continue to pay in the firm of replacement fillings, crowns, and root canals

I was visiting from out of state when an infected tooth flared up.She came highly recommended so I called and explained my situation.I was told to come in(this was after 3:00)and they would fit me in.They took xrays,Dr Cooney saw me and prescribed pain medication and antibiotic to get me by til the next day.She had me come in at 9;30 the next morning. She quickly and painlessly removed the tooth after making sure anesthetic was working. She spent a lot of time explaining follow-up care to me and my husband. She had a very concerned manner.I was thankful for the recommendation.

Dr. Cooney told me all of my fillings from a previous dentist needed replacement. She cost me and my insurance company hundreds of dollars for treatments not needed. I made an appointment for just a cleaning but Jane Cooney took x-rays of my teeth put them on the TV/ DVD and convince me that I needed fillings based on the x-rays shown on the TV. DR. Cooney made multiple appointments for me with multiple fillings on the same day. Dr. Cooney ruined my teeth I have all kinds of aches and pain after receiving treatment from this dentist.

About Front Desk: She was very helpful.

About Hygienist: The hygienists charged for services not performed but approved by DR. Cooney. They did not concentrate on cleaning the teeth but how many filling they could schedule for you in one week. ....

Hygiene time: 20

I saw Dr. Cooney as a new patient and after showing me the x-rays told me that I needed 8 fillings immediately. I set up an appointment for the following week and they completed 1 of the 8 fillings. Dr. Cooney does not have a very good "chair-side" manner at all. Her staff was quite pleasant however. After deciding to get a 2nd opinion, I found that what Dr. Cooney was pointing out were cavities, were only stains on the surface of my teeth! My current dentist had to re-do the 1 filling that Dr. Cooney did originally because she did not go deep enough and the cavity was not fixed. My experience with Dr. Cooney was not pleasant at all. I do not recommend visiting her office anytime soon.

I know this doctor: 2 visits too many!
