I found Dr. Volk when I moved to Chicago in 2014. He was very receptive to my fear of needles and shots and used/uses a smaller needle when I need to receive Novocain. He really listens to my concerns and is very conscientious about only doing work that needs to be done. My dentist in Cincinnati thought my crown should be replaced and not because anything was wrong with it. He just felt it was old. Dr. Volk won’t do that. I believe he only does work that is necessary in order to keep my cost down. And as a retiree, I really appreciate that. When I returned to Cincinnati in 2018, I did not want to go to my previous dentist and drag my feed about finding one in Cincinnati. My brother and his family live in Chicago and I visit him a couple of times a year. So I thought, well why not continue to see Dr. Volk and that’s exactly what I’ve done. Yes, I drive to Chicago from Cincinnati for my dental work. And I could not be happier! I am so grateful that I found Dr. Volk and highly, highly, highly recommend him. (This review really does not do him justice.)

I started going to Dr Volk when I moved here from Cincinnati in 2014. And he is wonderful. I expressed my “fear” of needles (shots) and he used, and continues to use, a child size needle when a shot is needed. He really listens to my concerns. He is very conscientious about costs and does everything he can to keep patient costs at a minimum. Including only doing work that needs to be done. And being a retiree I appreciate that. I moved back to Cincinnati in 2018. I was never happy with my Cinti. dentist before my move to Chicago. Since my brother lives in Chicago and I like to visit a couple times a year, I decided to continue seeing Dr. Volk rather than finding a new dentist in Cincinnati. Yes, I appreciate Dr. Volk so much that I drive here from Cincinnati for my dental work!! I am so grateful for Dr. Volk. (This review really doesn’t do him justice.)

I never saw Dr. Volk, one of the other dentists looked at my teeth after the hygienist was done cleaning them, he never introduced himself, he didn't know how to work the chair and had me on such an incline with my feet up that I almost fell out of the chair. The dentist prescribed me an antibiotic for a supposed infected tooth, I saw an Endodontist for a root canal the next day and was told it was NOT infected and I didn't need to be on any medicine. I was in the office for 2 1/2 hours for a simple cleaning, that is how slow and unorganized they are. I would never recommend this dentist and I will never go back. The office is dirty and everything is out of date. Please don't go here.

About Front Desk: Nancy was so completely unorganized, has no idea what multi-tasking is and it took 20 minutes just to check me out. Also she asked me the number to the CVS pharmacy that is 1/4 mile away and they have CVS business cards right on the counter, HELLO really? She acted like she was in a daze. I cannot believe this office is still in business. I have since left a message to relay my disgust and of course no one has called me back to discuss what happened or even a simple apology, they just don't care.

About Hygienist: After waiting for 40 minutes the hygienist "Kim" called my name and just said, "go to the second door on the right" she never introduced herself. Terrible chair-side manners. She was extremely rough when taking the x-rays. After she was done cleaning I asked to see a mirror to check my teeth and there were still several stains, so I asked her to clean those areas, so she did but had an attitude, looked again and I still had stains, showed her one more time and she cleaned a little more and said she didn't see anything, maybe she needs to change the prescription on her glasses. It took longer to get my x-rays than to clean my teeth! So disappointed, now I have to wait six months to get another cleaning because she wasn't thorough at all, obviously I won't be going back. Kim acted as if I was an inconvenience, without patients there is NO dental office, all healthcare providers need to learn what customer service is and that as providers they need to earn our trust.

We moved and were looking for a dentist in our area. Actually saw Dr. Kucher and not Dr. Volk. We were looking for a great female dentist for our daugther who would prefer to have a "female." Dr. Kucher was nice and filled a small cavity for me. I now feel comfortable to send my daugther there.
