A family member who feared dentists suggested Dr. Shea senior and I considered this to be a strong recommendation. He looks at you as a person first and a patient next. I am pleased with his care and treatments. He has filled cavities, repaired chips and done bridge work to my satisfaction. The only downside is the wait. Because he is willing to see patients with pain or other serious issues on short notice, a delay can occur. I would recommend Dr. Shea, senior.
The office staff is caring and attentive.
I have too little experience with Richard, junior and Brian (who share the office), to offer a recommendation.
About Hygienist: He does all his own cleanings. The hygenists set up the exam room.

So the facilities aren't plush but they are clean, large waiting room with lots of reading material, and I've never had a problem parking. The reason I highly recommend all 3 of the Shea dentist, is for their high quality, friendly and affordable service.
They always take the time to explain what is needed, they don't make recommendations on my kids' teeth just to make extra money. A previous pediatric dentist had suggest some extensive work for my daughter and Dr. Shea did a few of them, but the rest he said we could just watch as the teeth were close to coming out anyways. And that approach has worked (no complaints from my daughter and I saved significant amounts of money).
About Hygienist: The whole staff there is so nice and friendly.

patient and painless. I have been going to see him and his sons for 21 yrs now. He is the best around by far. I have since moved 45 mins away from his area and still travel to go to him!

I was a patient of Dr. Shea's since I was a little girl. I have since moved to CA and have been searching for a replacement for my wonderful, east-coast dentist for 3 years now. I have finally come to the conclusion that he is the best! No one else comes close.. Dr. Shea did veneers on my front teeth and they look amazing. I went to see him for a routine cleaning a few weeks before my wedding and he convinced me to get the veneers to make my smile perfect in my wedding pictures. I am so glad I listened to him! My teeth look great! He also did veneers on my mother and aunt. They, too, now have perfect Hollywood smiles! Thanks for everything Dr. Shea! I miss you!
