Except for the first couple of visits, Dr Strakus didn’t spend much time on my appointments and he always rushed in and rushed out. As of recently he seems to have lost his bedside manner. I didn’t have great experience with specialists he recommended either (especially the one he recommended for dental implants).

A wonderful dentist who does high quality work. He is personable and professional. His cosmetic work looks great, after several years. He always finds a way to solve the problem, and is one of the best dentists I have had in my entire life.

I think dr. Strakus is a nice guy, very business-like, busy, sometimes leaves me in chair while he visits and works on other patients which I don't like. The chestnut dental office is ridiculous to get a hygiene app't with, you have to book about 8 months in advance to ensure 6months between your app'ts and if you have to change the app't even 3months before, you'll get pushed out several months beyond the app't time. They do have a waiting list that they try to get you in from, for cancellations but few cancel given the circumstances. Anxiety is high with Dr. Strakus, I don't feel relaxed at all and have even become nauseous and felt like I was going to pass out once. He does not prescribe tranquilizers at all prior to app'ts so if you need one you have to get it from your primary care physician. MetLife does not cover Chestnut Dental services so you must pay higher rates to go there in general, and then insurance covers less than they would if it was a covered dentist. Best thing about this practice is that docs are Harvard trained and teach at the Harvard dental school as well so it's assumed they know what they're doing.
