Dr. Stephanie Altenburg was very rude and hateful to me the last time I saw her in December 2019. I had some problems with my teeth and she told me I had the worst mouth of any adult she has ever seen. And, yes, she is very arrogant. Also, told me she thought that neither She or myself liked each other enough to be seeing each other every week, assuming I would be there probably every week. I would never recommend her to anyone. I had been going to her for at least 2 years.

wanted to add more money to the bill. I told them why I came in and what my insurance would pay. That is all I wanted. The dentist came in and looked in my mouth and said nothing in my mouth was right. I think they looked at my crowns on my front teeth and though they would make a lot of money.

Good dentist, not friendly,. I had to ask her to introduce herself to me. She just assumed everybody knew who she was. A bit arrogant and above you. You feel like 'meat' in the chair while she carries on conversations with the helper. She filled a tooth as a preventive measure - so decay wouldn't get under the bridge I already had - and the staff kept telling me I had to have it done to save the tooth. They hard sell work.
About Front Desk: Competent receptionist, Marcella but Rhonda the scheduler can be abrasive and hard sells work. If you don't decide to have something done she asks you to sign the treatment plan you refused!! Very stressful.

Absolutely outstanding dentist!!! I hadn't been to a dentist in years -- 10+, at least -- and my mouth was a mess. My teeth were chipped and worn down to a nub. Dr. Stephanie didn't lecture me about my neglect. Instead, she fixed my problem. She re-built my smile, and now I love showing it off.
Through implants and veneers, all done at a reasonable price, she not only gave me back my smile, but made it better than ever. Not only was the price of the work far less than most other dentists, it was done far better. You can't tell this isn't the smile I was born with. No seams at the gum line. Just perfectly natural.
Also, the whole staff was warm and friendly. Later, I had to have tooth filled by Stephanie's husband, Dr. Tim Altenburg. He, too, did an excellent job.
I recommend their practice to everyone I know.
I had a lot of extensive work done and I not only got it done at an affordable price, I got it done without pain. Seriously, I didn't have any discomfort in the chair or later at home after the novocain wore off.

I am a big chicken when it comes to going to the dentist. Dr. Altenburg
is a very compassionate and understanding dentist. I have moved from
the KC area and now after finding a new dentist in STL I am considering
doing the drive to KC just to go back to her.

I think Dr. Altenburg is a wonderful dentist and her facilities are top notch. All of the employees up there are just wonderful.

Dr Altenberg was listed as a provider for my HMO but was resistant to accepting me as a patient. Finally they agreed to take me on as a patient because she had already seen my wife months before. Every visit I had with her she found some major problem that needed to be fixed. According to her my mouth was full of "ticking timebombs". She even crowned one tooth for me which ended up being infected and I needed a root canal in the tooth - resulting in a ruined crown. Every time she worked on me she was very rough and every experience I had in her chair was painful and uncomfortable. However, I tolerated her rough handling because she was one of only a few dentists that worked with my HMO. Finally her business office found a way to avoid the low reimbursement rates that my HMO provided and started charging me and my insurance much higher rates. The result was going to be a much higher out of pocket expense for me. I decided that it was going to be worth it to move to a different dentist even if it meant a long drive across town.
