My son has had quite a bit of dental work done by Dr. Lucero. Although she seems somewhat shy at first, she is very kind and thorough. She was very reassuring to all of us.

My first impression was that she seemed unfriendly and cold. Upon examination she told me there was nothing wrong with my teeth, no cavaties, no cleaning required. I had sensitivity in a couple of filings and she suggested I have them re-done. She was so abusive that the tooth broke and she had to prepare me for a crown. When I mentioned the fact that I didn't think the temporary fitted right, I was told it was because I was numb and couldn't feel it. The temporary crown fits so badly, I cannot bite down far enough to chew food. The next day my face looked and felt like I had been in an auto accident. I was swollen and black and blue for a week afterwards. I couldn't open my mouth far enough to eat properly for the first 2 days after. Sitting in the dentist chair with a broke tooth, they made me sign a contract agreeing to pay for the crown before they would continue, so now I am suppose to go back and get the permanent crown put on. I am looking for alternatives at this point. I want my money back and I am afraid to go back and get my dental work completed by her!

I was not impressed with this dentist at all. Her bedside manner was cold. She realized I was scared (I was shaking after she jabbed me with the needle so much) but there were never any words of comfort from her. In fact, she spoke to me as little as she could. After numbing me up, she left me to go back to work on another patient for about 20 minutes - I had the feeling of being on an assembly line. No one came to check on me in that 20 minutes to make sure I was ok. I have never felt so much fear in the dental chair, and I've had my share of experiences. In addition, she was brutal with my mouth (it has been 6 days since I had 3 surface fillings and I still can't open my mouth completely). For two and a half-days, there were visible bruises in my mouth. I've never had this much pain so long after treatment. I will not be returning to this dentist.

Wanted to replace all the old fillings with crowns, which often led to root canals as well (probably often unneeded). I finally left to go to another dentist who almost immediately had to re-do two of the crowns she had done (she paid for this work). I have also had serious problems with two of the root canals she did for me.

Dr. Mary Lucero did my root canal. I was so afraid of having one done because of what people said! I was suprised when she performed the procedure, the toothache I had before the root canal was the only pain I had from the whole experience. She is so careful and gentle that I didn't even feel the novacaine shots. I would totally reccomend her to any of my friends and family looking for a dentist!
