Dr. Mars was for many years my primary dentist, and always took exceptional care to save my teeth, help my peridontal health, and work within my then very limited budget. My first crown from him outlasted its design life by approximately 15 years. When I moved away from the area I took another primary but still return to him when more complicated restoration work is needed. I really feel that he is the best choice for higher end dentistry in Manhattan.
Though it has little bearing on the practice, outdoor space off the waiting area and fish in that area are a relaxing touch.

I moved to the same building as this dentist and thought it would be convenient to see him. I checked his reviews and didn't find many and the limited ones had either average or poor ratings. I thought a regular cleaning, is simple enough. Yet, when I called the office and spoke to "Julie" I was told the dentist is in network with my insurance. A month later, I received a bill from them asking for $560. I was told later by "Julie" that ARNOLD MARS DO NOT PARTICIPATE IN ANY INSURANCE. THEY BILL DIRECTLY TO THE PATIENTS. If you are looking for a honest and reliable dentist. This is not the right office. I will not ever go there again. I later found out, the dentist is 70 years old and is in the process of selling his practice.

Claimed 3 procedures from my insurance company that I never wanted! Sent me bills claiming they were for "x rays" and claimed something else form my insurance. Extremely rude and unprofessional.
And don't get me started on his ability as a dentist - he cut my entire cheek!

Last year he did a filling for me - and when he polished the tooth afterwards he cut my inner cheek! Took days to heal.
And that's not all - I made an appointment with him for a filing, and when I went in (at 7:30am!) he couldn't even see me! They made me see the dental hygienist for a cleaning, and claimed that's what my appt was for. And get this, afterwards they billed me not for a cleaning, but for $285 worth of comprehensive oral evaluation. I didn't even see the dentist! He ate $285 worth of my insurance plan that only has a $1500 annual max (cleanings are covered by my insurance and don't count toward the $1500). Now I am seeing another dentist and possibly stuck paying out of pocket for several fillings I require,

Dr. Mars is a wonderful dental professional, providing gentle, excellent and conservative care in a very nice, conveniently located Midtown office.
He is superb at minimizing discomfort, and he uses the latest in technology to deliver great dentistry. Also, he is a very generous guy who volunteers a lot of his time to provide dental care to people in third-world countries.

My entire family has been going to Dr. Mars for many many years, and we have always been extremely happy with the level of care and expertise we have gotten. Dr. Mars is great, the hygienists are great and very thorough, and the support staff is very friendly and helpful. They even give me a call when it's time to schedule my next appointment, so I don't have to keep track.

Dr. Mars is the best dentist I've ever gone to. He really takes time with his patience and fully listens to their needs. Removing my wisdom teeth was as smooth as it could get. Very gentle!!!

I'm a young patient of Dr. Mars, and though I have never had the need for any extensive dental operations, I can say that he is clearly expert in his field and has a mild touch. His voice and demeanor are relaxing (unlike many prickly doctors). His pre-examination staff are also very efficient and helpful. The best dentist I've had.
