Just had my first appointment with Dr. Moncrieff today. For the first time in 23 years, I think that I now know how to brush my teeth correctly. (It's not intuitive.) He patiently, kindly, and comprehensibly explained how different brushing techniques could improve the health of my gums. Funny and extremely good guy, too, with a friendly and highly competent staff. Dr. Moncrieff and his staff actually made a dental visit into a pleasure.

I've had just about everything from cleanings to crowns with Dr Moncrieff. Always great work, very conservative in his approach, explains things thoroughly and clearly. Everything I look for in a dentist.
About Hygienist: His hygienist is extremely knowledgeable as well, in fact is trained as a dentist herself.

My teeth were in terrible shape when I started with Dr. Moncrieff. He has good hands and did some great gum work, crown work, and root canal work. He does the cleanings himself, usually, and so has an extended look at whats going on in your mouth. Some patients have complained that his cleanings are a bit painful, but he is incredibly thorough. He explains everything pretty well, putting huge images of the issue in question on his TV monitor. Perhaps he best work, is the way he patiently gets you to take better care of your teeth.

Dr. Moncrieff is the best dentist I have ever had, covering 50 years of dental care in two countries and 4 states! Why? 1. He really cares about my teeth. 2. When other dentists said "operate," he encouraged good practices instead that worked. 3. When I needed a specialist, he stayed in close touch with him to make sure I got the care I needed. 4. He doesn't do procedures that he doesn't believe in just to make money (e.g. whitening). 5. He's funny and a fabulous person--just icing on the cake.
About Hygienist: He actually does the cleaning himself. It's a bit more costly, but I think the care and attention he gives is worth it.

Dr. Moncrieff has made several crowns for my mouth and has taken care of my dental needs. He is thorough, kind , and professional. He has referred me to excellent colleagues (oral surgeon and root canal dr.). I have been very pleased with all of the work he has done in my mouth.

Fabulous dentist. Very thorough. He does the work correctly the first time rather than having a cheap dentist whose work constantly needs to be done over and over again.

Dr. Moncrieff is the best dentist I've ever had -- and I've seen a lot. He is thoughtful, conscientious, cautious, pleasant, not excessively invasive. He is really focused on keeping your teeth and gums healthy -- not big on cosmetics.

Dr. Moncrieff is our family dentist. He's the friendliest and most professional dentist in town. I am from Brooklyn but travel uptown to see him. He knows his stuff and has a great sense of humor. I recommend him to everyone!
