Staff friendly. Office old, out-dated. Lots of "digging in drawers" with ungloved hands, locating items then used in the procedure. Not confident this is an organized and approved method of storing & retrieving surgical instruments. Emergency "root canal" was performed day 1, according to dentist and bill. Day 2, repeat emergency visit, more work on "root canal." Improperly placed dental dam = difficulty breathing during procedure. Infection continues to spread. Sought treatment from endodontist who showed via x-ray a root canal was never performed on the infected tooth, just a partial pulpotomy. Days of unnecessary pain & anguish could have been avoided if this dr had TOLD me he had only done a partial pulpotomy instead of a full root canal. Also note, this is NOT a gentle dentist by any means. Works fast and heavy handed. Very painful. Also, the sentence "Eeek, g** dammit" was used by Dr Salwin during the procedure.

About Front Desk: Friendly accommodating staff. I don't think it is their fault I was billed for a treatment I did not receive. I think they were following dr instructions.

About Hygienist: did not use this service

I would stay as far from this dentist as possible. This dentist tried to hard sell me crowns and bridges that looked liked a child made them. He is rough and inconsistent. He will tear your gums up. The fillings he did were so bad (different color than my teeth and raised ledges near my gum line), I asked him to fix them. Instead of fixing the fillings, he filed down the sides of my teethe creating gaps between my lower front teeth. Them he started sending me to specialists for an imaginary residual cyst. Due to this dentist behavior, I had no choice but to bring in another dentist to get him to finish the work properly. He will try to hide behind acceptable parameters.

About Front Desk: Micromanaged by the dentist's wife. The front office staff is normally good, however most of the time they cannot do their jobs.

About Hygienist: If you value your teeth, stay away from Roger

My mate and I had gone to previous - more costly dentists in Scottsdale and Phoenix with repeatedly mediocre/poor service or high cost. Had a lot of stress associated with previous/other dentists but Doc Salwin and staff were very patient and understood our needs. Decor of office could be updated but cost is below other dentists visited, so bottom line is, if you need an affordable, concerned and knowledgeable dentist...Doc Salwin should be your man. Oh, most importantly, they are generous with pain control needs and have quite the patient hygenist, Roger. Thank you, Sam ( Sharyn ) and Dave Evans
