On November 16, 2015 I saw Dr. Chips as a new patient. My chief complaint was tooth pain. After an x-ray it was determined that I had a tooth that was badly decayed. Dr. Chips did not think the tooth could be saved and was of the opinion that it had to be extracted. I was informed by Dr. Chips that after consultation with his son, a prescription for a sedative (of which I requested) would be called in Thursday, November 19th, 2015. After numerous calls to the pharmacy there had yet to be a prescription called in for the procedure scheduled December 3, 2015 @ 10:00 Today I made a visit to the pharmacy and again inquired about the prescription and .....you guessed it; not called in. Once I arrived home I looked up the definition of the Hippocratic oath, which I might add is very antiquated to say the least. I continued on and found the definition of ethics...bingo! After my visit I questioned the treatment I received by Dr. Chips and blamed it on nerves. But the treatment or lack thereof exhibited by Dr. Chips shed light on the dysfunction of some in the medical profession toward people who are different than themselves or their patients. As a Dr. in private practice you have the right to refuse service. Be honest about it
