I have had 2 root canals and 3 fillings in only 8 months time with Dr Zilbert. She gave my husband 3 root canals in a year's time also. Our dental insurance maxed out for the year and we were left with a huge bill. I recently saw a new dentist who did an exam and concluded that I had excellent oral health and had no idea why I would of needed 2 root canals. He then also told me that one of the crowns didn't fit my tooth propertly and in the future that tooth would probably give me problems due to this and that I need to consult an endodontist. Dr Zilbert was always nice to me, but would always seem like she was in a hurry and would be rude to her staff right in front of me. They also cancelled appointments on me all the time or would call me the day of and want to change the time. I thought her office was dirty and I'm not sure her hygientist knew what they were doing either. I would never recommend this dentist to anyone. I know I'll never get the thousands of dollars back that I spent on her lousy work, so I can only hope this review keeps other people from going through the pain and anxiety that I have gone through.

I took my kids for their cleanings and they loved her so much I made an appointment for myself. I did need some minor fillings done. She is very thorough and shows you a video of the inside of your mouth so you can see your own problems, I had been to another nearby dentist that demanded I get work done without me being able to see for myself. Dr Zilbert was not pushy about me getting it done, just showed me the pictures and let me know what needed to be done. Price seemed fair. Office was clean and neat.

About Hygienist: Seemed pleasant enough and gentle enough. Teeth felt great afterwards.

Among other proceedures I had two bad experiences with her. On a root canal she left one root nerve intact and the crown she installed was not sealed properly. Later the tooth became impacted. I had to have a root amputation done on two of the three roots in an attempt to "save" the tooth. It turned out that the remaining root was cracked by her proceedures and had to come out because it continued to pus. I not only had to loose the tooth but some of the surrounding bone was loss and I had to get a bone graft and an implant to replace the loss tooth. On a second proceedure to put in a perminate bridge she again failed to seal the crown properly and the remaining tooth that was used for an anchor began to rot under the crown. When I asked her for something for the pain she perscribed a mouth wash. The dentist I finally went to, because of the pain, showed me that the decay on the tooth was flaking off. After many visits to other dentists and peridontists things are much better.

In my opinion, Dr. Zilbert is proactive when it comes to treatment. Rather than watch a developing problem, I think her approach is to "nip it in the bud". That's ok with me, but it's not what I'm used to. My root canal was a bit painful, and took too long in my opinion. I plan on keeping her as my dentist.

I feel that Dr. Zilbert is too aggressive with her diagnosis and treatment plans, letting her desire to earn a lot of money override the actual proceedure needed for the patient. She is quick to suggest expensive root canals (which I had) when on the next one, I had a second opinion (an oral surgeon) tell me that a crown was all that was necessary . If you are in doubt, get a second opinion.

Dr. Zilbert is not only the ultimate professional doing excellent work, but she is also very personable, making her patients very comfortable. I always feel as if I'm going to see a dear friend, instead of just going to the dentist. She is always honest and above board about everything. She has never told me one thing and done another except when it was totally unavoidable (sometimes there are many variables and unknowns until the work actually commences), and then everything is always thoroughly explained. She also does all she can to make her patients as pain free as possible. She had to do many root canals in my mouth, and made a bridge that is much more beautiful than my own teeth ever were. I get lots of compliments on my teeth now. I'm not sure about the cost as compared to other dentists, but I do believe she is as reasonable as possible and takes most dental insurance plans. Her hygienist, Brandy, is also very professional and personable, and does all she can as well to make her patients as comfortable and pain free as possible. The entire staff is very competent and I wouldn't dream of going anywhere else, and I cannot recommend them highly enough.
