I went in for an appointment and didn't realize my insurance was maxed out and it starts over in a couple months, he said "oh we can do the work and charge insurance later..." Uh that is insurance fraud and he told he always does it and there shouldn't be a problem. I told him I could pay for a temporary fix he said okay, unsure of what was going on he did all the work. On the wrong tooth! if he wasn't busy bouncing around none stop telling other patients to not be whimps... this probably wouldn't of happened. I I believe all his positive comments are just family and friends because there is no way this dentist should have a five star rating.

About Front Desk: front desk argued with me about his mistakes, uhm I am the patient. they should know how to do their jobs

I have had several root canals done by Dr. Tidwell. He is very skilled and ALWAYS makes sure that the local anesthetic has taken effect before proceeding with anthing. I now live in Davis County and come back to Dr. Tidwell for anything above and beyond a cleaning or minor filling because of a problem caused by another dentist near my home in Bountiful. This other dentist had the bright idea to replace all of my fillings and then missed filling one back in. I experienced excruciating pain, was unable to eat or sleep, made several return visits back to him and was told that I was psycho semantic and he could not help me... this was followed by 2 trips to the ER and $500 out of my pocket. I went back to Dr. Tidwell who very quickly discovered the missed filling and immediately took care of it. I'm happy to report that I am NOT psycho semantic and am now pain free and VERY grateful to Dr. Tidwell. He is truly wonderful and amazing and has provided excellent care and service to me, several of my friends and family. Dr. Tidwell is a ROCK STAR!!!

About Hygienist: Dr. Tidwell's hygenist is amazing as well. She is gentle, kind, thorough and always asks about my family. She remembers things about me that close friends I see all the time have forgotten.

WARNING! Dr. has NO regard for your pain. Root Canal was done. Pain block wore off. I told him I was feeling pain. He said we're almost done and CONTINUED drilling. EXCRUCIATING! I will never see Dr. Tidwell again. Also, they will have you copay then send you a bill for more money. There's supposed to be an agreement that dentists accept what the insurance pays but this facility has sent me bills for more money beyond what the insurance paid them.

About Hygienist: Hygienist is excellent.

Greedy dentist office. My experience: 1. I arrive for my NEW PATIENT appointment - Dr Tidwell is ON VACATION. I get an exam by a "Dr Findley" who speaks to the hygenist in technical terms and walks out. I am told I need 3 fillings and a crown. Funny, my teeth don't hurt. 2. I return to the office for my fillings and crown. The office is crowded and Dr Tidwell is running behind. I wait in the chair for 15 minutes. Finally, I speak to Dr Tidwell and have to inform HIM I am a new patient. I also ask if I really need a crown. I can probably 'get by' with a filling he says. My work takes an hour, for which 15 minutes Dr Tidwell was actually sitting in the chair next to me (he was busy with 3 other patients simultaneously). After the work my gums are black and blue, and over the next 2 months receed due to the trauma. It took 6 months for them to return to almost where they were before the work. 3. I return for my 6 month cleaning and exam. Dr Tidwell is ON VACATION. I wait in the waiting area for 20 minutes because no one was at the front desk to check me in. Thank goodness Dr Findley was in the office to tell the hygenist in technical terms that I need 3 more fillings and 2 skin grafts. Funny my teeth don't hurt.

About Hygienist: Even the hygenist has an assistant. She will polish and floss you while the hygenist is working on another patient. A perfect model of efficiency. Oh and greed.

We love our Dr. T! He has saved many a tooth from certain death! He also offers jokes, and spiritual guidance! Always happy to see you, never stingey with the pain killer, Dr T is the kind of guy you wish could be your general MD. He makes going to the dentist fun again! Thanks for all the memories, Doc. See you in a couple of weeks for that pretty new bridge! :)

About Hygienist: A brave and fearless lady, she approches my husband's yucky yap with the grace and dignity of the Tooth Fairy! So break out the big guns, Mrs. Clean, because the hubby has an appointment coming up soon! See you then! :)

Dr. Tidwell was my dentist for years. I moved out of Salt Lake a few years ago, and I've tried a few other dentists. None can compare. Dr. Tidwell is both capable and affable, his office is incredibly efficient, and in my experience, Dr. Tidwell proactively tries to make the trip to the dentist's office a pleasant one. I'm tempted to fly back to SLC every time I need to go to the dentist!

My 19 yr old daughter had four wisdom teeth removed by Dr. Tidwell. He did surgery without effective pain medication, and humiliated her with inappropriate comments. Although she firmly protested that she was not numbed, he proceeded with the surgery. In response to her protests, Dr. Tidwell told her that she "was a wimp", and she would not remember afterwards that he was saying this to her. I asked Dr. Tidwell, since he knew she was not adequately pain medicated, why he rushed with the surgery. He told me that she was just nervous and therefore proceeded over her protests. He felt no need to contact me prior to proceeding. He acknowledged the comments that he made to her, and said he was kidding. Others should be aware of Dr. Tidwell's total disregard for the well-being of his patient, and his mistreatment that resulted in my daughters horrific experience of unmedicated dental surgery accompanied by his inappropriate and callous remarks.

This guy is awesome. Took care of my problems, with a minimum of anxiety on my part. I'd definitely visit him again.

My 10 yr old son had a tooth that needed a root canal. His pediatric dentist said they had to schedule it for 2 1/2 weeks away. He cried all night on a Friday of a holiday weekend. When I contact the pediatric dentist they said all they could do for me was give him a prescription. I called Dr. Tidwell and he called me back immediately. He met us on a Saturday and did the root canal that day. I was very happy that cared enough about my son and his pain to take care of it. Thank you Dr. Tidwell.
