I never see the same dentist at this practice, but for a 6 month check-up/cleaning they are fine. Insurance covers this and I take very good care of my teeth so I haven't needed more than 2 fillings over the years. I did get invisalign which made my TMJ worse, though no one seemed to care or offer any help on how to remedy this. If you have TMJ don't get invisalgn it will likely make your TMJ worse because it moves the teeth without aligning the cranial bones (wish I had known this a few years ago, most dentists/orthos don't know). Braces can cause this problem as well but not always quite as bad.

About Front Desk: Front desk has always been helpful with scheduling and knows who I am even though I rarely come in for anything other than my 6 month cleaning/check-up

Hygiene rating:

About Hygienist: Hygienists are always nice and do a good job cleaning. I take very good care of my teeth at home so I generally don't have much pain during a cleaning.

Hygiene time: 20

My Experience: Cleaning

Dr Kim has a very gentle nature, is very straightforward with his diagnosis and treatment. I would suggest they lower prices. I have been a patient since late 1980's, as they took every insurance plan i ever had. Waiting time is good, and his hygenists were always top notch. I've had periodontal treatment and filings, and cleanings and root planing.

About Hygienist: thu was hygenist. Quick, relatively pain free, good manners, feel clean.

Very disinterested staff and painful experience of just getting my teeth cleaned. No interpersonal skills training of staff..

I like Dr. Kim and his team of dentists, but the office staff is difficult and unfriendly. They bring new meaning to NOT wanting to go to the dentist! Dr. Kim-- you deserve better.

About Hygienist: Okay, but impersonal and inattentive.

Dr. Kim himself is good, competent and kind. However his staff, especially front office is very unpleasant. They have a high turnover although the same office manager has been there for years. Front office staff has an unpleasant attitude, arrogant and unfriendly. Despite all these years going there they still treat us poorly, especially the children. Have no problem making you wait, but scold you if you are five minutes late. Just overall unpleasant, which is why we are switching now.

About Hygienist: Hygienists change often at this practice, but our experience has been decent overall.

My wife and I have had considerable problems with most of his work. He does not have an acceptable bedside manner. The staff is just OK, not stellar by any means. He is very rough. When you come to complain about a crown being painful, he will always blame it on something else.

Poor service. Everytime I call, the people do not seem very friendly and it is extremely frustrating. It actually makes me want to change dentist offices.

Dr. Kim's treatments are VERY VERY expensive!! My crown costed me about $1000 and I had to pay the full amount up front even though I have insurance. The cosmetic result is a completely disapointment. It's definitely not worth the money.

I have seen Dr. Kim for several years, and now that I have different insurance, I am shopping for a new dentist. Overall, I cannot recommend him. Firstly, his cleaning staff is not very friendly, very "all-business" (some may care for such treatment, but not me), and not as good at providing a pain-free cleaning. Everytime, prior to the water-blasting portion of the cleaning, I mention a sensitive recession I have. EVERY TIME the assistant has caused me considerable pain at precisely that location, several times without even an apology (just a "sorry" suffices -- it's polite). The last time, after cleaning Dr. Kim inspected my teeth for literally 10 seconds, declaring "looks good" and then without another word, left the room. I was shocked. I was told that by Dr. Kim that I had worn down my molars due to nighttime grinding and he suggested that it was in my best interests to get a custom-fitted bite guard made from a molding of my teeth. However, such an appliance was not covered by my insurance and ended up costing more than $400 out of pocket. Although the bite guard was a good fit, ultimately a cheaper one would most likely have sufficed, and I know of several well-made ones in the $50-100 range.

I agree with earlier postings. Here are a few things I experience myself: the front-desk service was very poor; major procedure, like crown, is required to pay 'in-full' upfront although with an insurance; $20 charge for the record and 7-10 business days to process. The bottom line: I switched.
