I was a patient of Dr. Kling's for a long time but had to terminate him because of cost. He is a competent dentist.
During the recession I lost my dental insurance which caused me to take a closer look at his fee schedule.
I began the process by looking up dentists ranked higher than Dr. Kling in DC Checkbook to check their fee schedule. The differences were jaw dropping.
The dentist I chose is accepts all dental insurance. While I have no insurance his fees are less than Dr. Kling's with insurance.
I don't have the procedure number anymore but grinding down a tooth and putting on a porcelain cap
at Dr. Kling's : $2,800.00
at my new dentist: $1,100.00
Dr. Kling teeth cleaning: $280.00
my new dentist teeth cleaning $130.00
Dr. Kling takes pride in his doing pro bono dental work for underprivileged women of Alexandria. As a patient the thought ran through my mind he is subsidizing this work by overcharging his patients. If this were true I would consider it egregious behavior.

Great Dentist, great facility - couldn't find a nicer dentist - only downfall - WAY too expensive...

Extremely competent and empathetic with patient concerns. Sometimes difficult to get an appointment unless it is an emergency.
Dr. Kling has an excellent chair-side manner and puts apprehensive patients like me at ease. He seems to be current on the latest diagnosis and treatment techniques and provides a comprehensive routine exam, including check for oral cancer and routine blood pressure monitoring.
His prices tend to be high for this area and he does not participate in any insurance plans as far as I know. In spite of this, he is the only dentist in town that I will willingingly open my mouth for!
About Hygienist: Employs a number of hygienists. Most are very pleasant and reasonably gentle.
