Years of care for me and my family - he is a gentle, friendly dentist. The office is not fancy like many over-priced offices in the area, so you're not paying for all the extra square footage and inflated extras.

In the past, a few things have always bothered me about going to the dentist: a) the same trust issues I have with auto mechanics (i.e. is he charging me to fix things that don't really need fixing?), b) the feeling I am just a product on a medical factory assembly line, and c) knowing that I am contributing to payments on the doctor's Escalade parked outside the office. And then I found Dr. Malyon, a down-to-earth, humble, and kind-hearted man who has reminded me that there are still good, quality health-care professionals out there. He treats me like a friend, an equal, listens to my concerns and explains things in detail. He has always been honest and straightforward, and I have never felt cheated, scammed, or overcharged. AND he rides his bike to work! His staff is excellent and the place is cozy. I really feel like Dr. Malyon is not at all out to make big bucks; he's in the business of providing a quality service to the community and making you smile!
About Hygienist: Susanne is always thorough, extremely competent, gentle and kind.

Dr. Malyon is the best. He is an honest, skilled dentist that keeps my family's teeth in perfect condition but doesn't gouge us with extra charges and services. I have trusted him for everything including kid's broken teeth, crowns, root canals, night gaurds, fillings and routine cleaning. His staff is super friendly and the atmosphere doesn't have that big, over the top, luxurious (i.e. you are paying top $$ to sit on our suede sofa) feel - it is more like going to the dentist when you were a kid where they remember your name, ask about your family and are pain free and conservative in treatment -- he doesn't dig holes in your teeth to make money. I have told many of my friends about him and they have all been super happy.
About Hygienist: Susanne is super competent and kind. She cleans our teeth every six months and does a great job.

General impression/recommendation - not recommended. While things are OK - Dr Malyon is doing reasonable job, but as soon as anything goes wrong he does not want to fix things and simply wants to push you out of the door. Bad ethics and bad business practice.

My wife and I were using Dr Malyon for over a year. Initially everything was OK - he did one filling for me, and replaced failed crown. We also used dental cleaning services of his office.
Few month ago the doctor convinced me to install bridge to fill in missing tooth I had for a while. Unfortunately this time things did not go too well - prep work introduced infection and I had quite serious problems for a week.
When the bridge was done, it turned out to be too small - it left a gap between lower and upper teeth. Initially Dr Malyon wanted to cut teeth around to make it a better fit, but it did not help. Then he wanted to add some material to the bridge to make it bigger. I had concerns with reliability. Eventually the doctor told me that from his point of view everything is fine and I may have teeth shape problem.
I ended up going to a different dentist to have the bridge completely redone.

This is a great place. The staff is pleasant and uplifting, giving great tips and pointers for dental health.
Dr Maylon is knowledgeable and personable.
Good choice for a dentist.

Very painful tooth cleaning. It was suppose to be routine, but the hygienest touched not one, but two nerves. I will never go back.

He handled me and my kids very well thank you and did not seem to be looking for his next Porche payment. I thought he was very honest, he could have "made work" for himself like other dentists have tried with me but he did the right thing. Remember, only you have your best interests at heart.

Dr. Malyon has been our family dentist for at least a dozen years. The way we came to him was when my son had a dental emergency after being hit in the face with a baseball. Our Dentist at that time was in office, but refused to see my son because the business day was about over, and he was planning a trip out of town. That dentist did not provide us with any other options for emergency treatment. At the advice of our family doctor, we called Dr. Malyon and he met us at his office after hours, took x-rays, and provided emergency treatment, as well as a diagnosis. He is a gentle provider, great with kids, and the office staff is always friendly. I would recommend Dr. Malyon to anyone looking for a general dentist in the East Bellevue area.
