Very poor manners. I have never been treated so badly in a dentist chair as I was there.

This has been the single worst dental appointment I have ever had to endure. A simple. tiny filling turned into a debacle I was shocked at the unprofessionalism and idiocy I was forced to sit through.

When I first went to Dr. Winskill I really liked him, as a child I had an abusive dentist that really traumatized me and left me full of anxiety when I would go to the dentist. He seemed like a great dentist, but slowly my opinion has change. It started around the time he forgot to check if I was completely numb before he started drilling. Didn't even bother to press with one of his pokey tools. I did not want to go back to him since then, but I had an extremely bad tooth ache. I would have rather given birth than go through this agony is all I can say about that, I feel like that is an understatement. Clearly I am in pain when I go there, I was cringing at every heartbeat and my knuckle were completely white. I even mention I was in severe pain. He sent me back to the waiting room in agony and then told me I had an appointment for a root canal hours away. I had to beg him to numb the tooth, because he didn't realize I was in pain. A good doctor should see the signs of pain and listen to when the patient says they would rather get shot then feel this pain.

Dr. Winskill is highly skilled with a great "chair-side" manner. I was having an old filling replaced awhile ago and it was quite a large filling. After he started drilling, he noticed a practically imperceivable flinch and immediately made sure I had more novacaine. He has a "sixth sense" about patient pain and tolerance. Plus he is just very personable and seems to care greatly about each individual patient. This attitude is infectious (in the good way, ha) with his staff.
Oh yeah, the view from the treatment chairs is not to be missed.

Due to a wreck in my misspent youth (the 60's) I have significant dental work: permanent 7 tooth bridge, and a bite that has required a number of crowns (6). Dr. Winskill is ever mindful of my unique situation, and treats me with my situation in mind. Referring me to others if they can help in a give situation(a gutta percha-saving my bridge); or just to ease my mind and give me more facts to make a more informed decision about my own health care. He is always upbeat and friendly. The office is serene and has a pleasant view. It is located near my neighborhood and parking is easy. The office runs on time and you don't spend a lot of time waiting. (This is very important to me. I like physicians who respect MY time.)
Dr. Winskill is also a person making a difference in our community with a program (he began) to give disadvantaged kids a better holiday.
He and his wife have also raised, in their home, a son with severe birth defects. To his credit he is always thinking of ways to help Christopher. It is his selflessness that endears him to many. He also practices dentistry with the same selflessness. He puts his patients first... rare today.
About Hygienist: The hygienists are very good; gentle; friendly; very capable. They help keep what I have in good shape.
