DO NOT GO. I repeat. DO NOT VISIT DR. SALINSKY FOR YOUR DENTAL CARE.
I went to my first appointment at Dr. Gerald Salinsky's office due to a Groupon for a cleaning, exam and xray. Dr. Salinsky looked at my xrays and I was told I had one cavity and I made an appointment to come back and have it filled.
Once I was in the chair for my second appointment, I was told I needed TWO fillings AND that I had an abscess that required a root canal. I opted to have both fillings taken care of at the same time and make a future appointment for a root canal.
The quote I was given for the root canal was quite expensive, and I am self-employed without dental insurance, so I opted to get a screening at Marquette Dental School to see if I was eligible for their services and get a quote for a root canal there. Dr. Salinsky's office refused to give me a diagnostic-quality copy of my xrays, so I had to be xrayed again at Marquette. Surprise! I didn't actually have an abscess, no root canal required.
I wrote this off as a mistake or a difference of opinion, and just counted myself lucky that I had gotten a second opinion, UNTIL: A collegue coincidentally mentioned that she had recently been to the dentist and had been diagnosed with 2 abscesses and

Dr. Salinsky is nearly retirement age, but knows his trade well. The receptionist seems somewhat confused.
