I would avoid Dr. Guthrie at all costs!! Unprofessional, insensitive, pricey and disorganized with his bookkeeping, with an unwelcoming staff to boot! You've been warned!

About Front Desk: Unprofessional, insensitive and disorganized, just like Dr. Guthrie! Surprise! Surprise!

I was referred to Dr. Guthrie by my dentist to have two wisdom teeth pulled. The office was very clean and the staff was nice. The cost was decent with my insurance. I meet Dr. Guthrie, who seemed very welcoming. He was very calm and made me feel a little relaxed ( I was nervous out of my mind). The one thing that really turned my stomach, was the way he spoke to his employees. During my visit, I guess something happened with his dental assistants. He went into a rage out of this world. He was screaming at his employees so loud, the entire office could hear. I totally disagree with that. You should discipline employees in private. That is so unethical and disrecpectful to talk to people the way he did. The assistants were near tears. I am pretty sure they were embarassed to be put on front like they were. I was almost afraid to let him work on my teeth after he exploded. He needs to take some classes on managment and self control. Very unprofessional! In the end, he did a great job on my extractions, but needs to work on attitude and work/management ethic.

Dr. guthrie is a great dentist but his staff needs customer friendly skills. His staff can make or break the visit and they have always left me not 100% satisfied

Dr. Guthrie was late at two surgeries and another appointment, one up to an hour and a half beyond the scheduled time. Even when you sit in the chair finally, he is running from one room to another, seeing several patients at the same time. Dr. Guthrie doesn't take the time to explain the treatment, and he is reluctant to talk when you ask for general information about the treatment. The office is run more like an overbooked business than a medical office. Dr. Guthrie spends a regular amount of time with the billing person while on appointments with patients. This doctor seems too focused on making money rather than on the patient. I would not recommend this doctor.

Ok so I made the decision for a number of reasons to have a tooth extracted and not endure a root canal. I have had numerous bad experiences with dental procedures and was VERY afraid to get this done. I was very forthright with Dr. Guthrie about my anxiety and the fact that I have to stop this cycle of bad dental experiences as they were starting to build on each other and he listened and prescribed an oral sedative for my procedure. It was great. Got it done. Feeling good. And not as afraid to go back. Yes his office is a little out of wack. Seems to be too much staff and not enough him. But seriously .. if the dentist can keep you out of pain who cares if that part takes a little longer. Would totally recommend him to scaredy cats.

First; I am very afraid of Dentist; and so is my daughter. I was hurt, very badly once by a dentist. I am now 55 years old. Out of my life time there are only two Dentist who I must say have God Given Talents and ability and excell in their field and Dr. Guthrie is one. He was born to do what he does, because Dr. Guthrie a dental genius. No pain, pleasant, professional. Just the Best. My daughter loves him too. She had to have wisdom teeth removed to prep for braces. When he finished she jump up and gave him a big hug; she was so happy there was no paid. All I could say was, I told you. Now I am telling you.

I went to Dr. Guthrie to have 4 wisdom teeth removed. When I went there for my consultation, they left me for about 1hour in the dental room. Nurses walked in and out and just left me there. An 10 minute consultation took over 2 hours! On the day of surgery, because all of my teeth were still embedded below the bone, I was supposed to receive IV sedation. However, for some reason Dr. Guthrie was incapable of getting the IV to take and he ended up removing all teeth while I was awake and only on novacaine. He had to drill out my bone while I was awake! On top of that, when I yelled (from the pain of having him drill), he yelled back at me that he could not work if I screamed. That of course pissed me off and I hoped to never return. I even went through 2 weeks of dry socket pain just so I didn't have to go back. Later on, though, I realized a splinter of jaw bone was sticking out where a tooth had been removed. Sadly I had to return. Once again I waited in the room for 40 minutes past my appointment and then he came in for 30 seconds, said I'm fine, and tried to file the bone down even though it was under gum. How can you file bone when gum is over it? You can't! Now my gum is all torn up and swollen and my problem is not solved

I really want to thank Dr. Guthrie for helping with a second opinion on some bridge work and his ease in extrecting a painful wisdom tooth recently. He was very good about listening to my needs and the tooth come out easily with the usual novacane. Other dentists were trying to get me to over pay for other drugs and procedures and Dr. Guthrie got the job done. Thanks Dr.
