What is up with dentists in SoFlo?! Every one of them tries to sell you products and unnecessary procedures! This was my first and last visit to Dr. Schechter's office in Delray Beach. Without ANY X-rays from my previous dentist (also a total nightmare) he told me that his office could not do anything for me. WHAT?! I am a baby boomer who has had optimal healthcare professionals in NYC and I have NEVER encountered a dentist like him! Seems his dental hygienist has been trained in "selling" procedures that are "out of pocket" and not covered by my insurance. So, I guess, I was not an "easy target" when I continued to ask why and how much!

About Front Desk: The 2 ladies at the front desk were lovely but not enough for me to continue with this dentist!

About Hygienist: The hygienists' first comment to me (without any XRays) from my previous DDS was how "awful" my mouth was and that I would need 4 "deep cleanings". This was the same procedure that she sold my friend on on her first visit so I knew she was full of it! Then, she said she was going to perform some kind of procedure I never even hear of and when I asked her the price, she released a huge sigh and said she didn't know prices! When I insisted to know, she left to ask and then said it was $165 out-of-pocket. I said no and she seemed pissed off. When the Dr. Schecter came in, he asked about the procedure being done and she nodded her head NO and he asked again as if he didn't hear the right answer the first time! She cleaned my teeth reluctantly and not letting me relax my jaw (until I asked her to stop) for 60 minutes!

Had a crown ; very bad job. very expensive considering I had to go to another dr to fix his wrong doing.

About Front Desk: not friendly

I know this doctor: Only went a couple of times for a crown.

I've been going to Dr. Schechter for two years now and never had a cavity in that time. Beforehand, I used to get lots! He helped me make a new start and learn preventative measures for keeping away cavities, gum disease, etc. He's always emphasized how much physical pain and money you can save by just taking care of your teeth and not letting them get to the point where you have to get cavities or surgery or whatever. He's a great guy, really knows his stuff, and a pleasure to keep coming back to!

I needed to have a pair of teeth replaced with dental implants a few months ago and I went to Dr. Schechter. He has done some dental work for some friends of mine, and they highly recommended him. I made an appointment - they had me in for the work in less than a week. Everyone in the office was kind, helpful, and the front desk personnel even helped me fill out all the paperwork that they give to new patients. I appreciated the helpful - and it was nice to have someone offer to help - even with little things like that. Such a friendly staff, that will be the reason I keep coming back.

I have been coming to Dr. Schechter for more than a decade and he and his staff have been great at treating my fmaily for everything from cavities and a root canal, to teeth whitening and doing crowns on my teeth. While no one likes going to the dentist, their office is always soothing, and everyone is friendly. I like Dr. Schechter's bedside manner, he always takes the time to listen to your concerns and gives you great ideas and tips for keep your teeth healthy. I like that he accepts my dental insurance - and that his office is great at letting me know what is and isn't covered by insurance so there aren't any nasty surprises.

Dr. Schechter is simply the best dentist ever. I must admit, going to the dentist or the doctor for that matter have always been at the bottom of my list. He has a way of making me feel so comfortable and at ease that I forget I'm in a dental office. he has been taking care of myeand my kids for the past 5 years now. You will definately be glad you chose this office!

Please do not let Dr. Schechter to grind your teeth. Before my visit to him, I had no idea what TMJ standed for and had never had TMJ pain. Now I'm suffering daily severe neck, shoulder's pain and often migraines. The crown he placed fell out in 2 years.

About Hygienist: Hygienist was the most pleasant and the most professional.

His staff is very vague about the costs and makes many mistakes in their favor for the billing.
