My daughter just returned from her first visit with Dr. Spitz. She *loved* it! I was a bit worried before the visit as I was told they would be doing full xrays. Uh oh. My kid has such a strong gag reflex that she's been known to vomit on cue when the tongue depressor comes near her! Her previous dentist was never able to get more than a single partially xrayed tooth due to her gaggy nature. But at Dr. Spitz's office, Joan made the process enjoyable! WHAT?! My daughter was given breathing tricks and information that helped her relax, I got to hear the fun story about how Joan ran around the corner super fast to take the xray so my daughter would not have to breath slowly for long. Rather than coming home with horror stories, it was all about how nice every one was and about how fun the visit was. They got every last xray done! She had fun learning about how to brush better and seeing all the plaque on her teeth. She was so excited to talk about the trip (my husband took her so I heard about it afterward) telling me all about how the office was like a space ship, and even how they turned the water on was cool.
