My daughter and I went through a horrific experience at this practice. She originally went there because of a fall and two broken teeth. After the cosmetic repair, we did agree to a follow up when they found cavities and stressed how badly she needed a cleaning. My daughter was lied to then as the office told her I was fine with the cost of that work when they had actually never told me. The day of the fillings and cleaning, the office called me to authorize a credit card payment and this is when I first learned of the actual cost, which I expected to be higher in NYC, but not more then three times higher than what we pay here in CT, I called back to cancel and was told it was too late, they had already started the work. My daughter was in the next room and could hear the entire phone conversation. Nothing had started; she didn’t even have a bib on, the dentist had not even come into the room yet, as she was out with the receptionist. One of the cavities was deep that they filled-she was never offered Novocain before drilling (she is considered fairly high pain tolerant) and she said she was in so much pain, she almost had to stop the dentist .I was told how badly her gums were swollen; there was a lot of bleeding during the cleaning, how the hygienist had to spend extra time with the cleaning and also had to give my daughter instructions on proper brushing. All not true. The hygienist said everything looked fine. My daughter did require root canal on one of the broken teeth-which we had done in CT. We asked for her x-rays and files to be sent, which were never sent until another phone call was made moments before her visit. Only the x-rays were sent to my daughter’s phone as a small jpeg from “ragingflame”-nothing identifying neither the doctor’s office nor patient’s name on the film. My daughter asked the office numerous times to “cc” me on any emails that were sent to her from the office which was never done. I had to ask numerous times for copies of the receipts of the credit card transactions and was even asked by the office, “Why do you want those”. I was told their prices were higher because of the location (Park Avenue). It also took several phone calls to get anything done, I was blatantly lied to by the staff, and for their office telling me they had sent a claim to my health insurance as we might be able to recoup some of the cost under dental trauma…I have yet to see where a claim has even been filed.
