I went to Dr. Yurovsky (in Goldberg's office) for a simple cleaning. She said she found four "medium" sized cavities in each of my back molars. After she drilled the first two, I was in major pain on the bottom molar. I called and told her that I was experiencing pain and sensitivity, and she said it was perfectly normal and could last for 6 weeks. I knew it wasn't normal so went to another dentist for a second opinion. Turns out she drilled down to the pulp of my tooth, and I needed a root canal. Got the root canal from a great endodontist (Dr. Rhome in center city Philadelphia), and was referred to a great dentist (Dr. Volinsky). The whole process of root canal and getting the crown has taken 2 months, the better part of $1000, and a LOT of hassel - not to mention the excrutiating pain I went through for a week prior to the root canal. Since then, Dr. Volinsky has examined my two remaining teeth that Dr. Yurovsky claimed had "medium" sized cavities. He has even taken extra x-rays looking for what Dr. Yurovsky might have thought were cavities. He has been unable to find ANY cavities at all in these teeth. They're perfectly healthy. He also does not believe I had any cavities in the tooth that is now dead and crowned.
