The biggest problem I found with this guy is his attitude: he's TOO confident. I saw him for an issue with a crown he did, and he said he knew right away exactly what the problem was and how to fix it. He claimed the crown hurt because I grind my teeth at night. While it's true I grind them sometimes, I have NEVER had pain from it. Not once. He starts drilling the crown so I can't grind on it. Fine.
Then we take an x-ray. Oh, guess what, it looks abnormal. Something must be wrong. He says, "Well, the seal of the root may be bad, but I think it's highly unlikely. I'm pretty sure you have a grinding problem." But he refers me to a specialist anyway.
Well, guess what again. The endodontist found an infection in the apex of the root. That's right, an infection that WASN'T there before the crown was done. So I had to get another very expensive procedure on that tooth (it's cost about $2500 to work on one tooth over the years -- most of which was luckily covered by insurance).
I have no evidence that he screwed up the crown procedure, but it would be a VERY big coincidence if the infection had nothing to do with it, since it started at the same time. And the overconfidence in the wrong diagnosis was troubling.
