This guy is great. I've had some dentists make me feel like a fish on a hook when they test gum depth... I could barely feel him testing. He gave me a thorough, professional exam on my first visit: X-rays, photographs, detailed gum analysis. He's got great chair-side manners and put me very much at ease, despite the fact that it'd been more than 6 years since my last dental visit. He knows what he's doing and the entire staff are friendly and seem happy to be working there. Plus, the office is great... the building has actually won at least one award for its architecture. My wife has seen Dr. Fiscus for several years and finally convinced me to go. I'm glad I did. If you're looking for a dentist in Boulder I highly recommend him. He has a specialty in bite correction, so if you have TMJ or other bite-related problems then I even more highly recommend him. He's also great for students or folks who might otherwise struggle with the cost of dental work. I don't know the details, but I know he has done a lot of pro bono work, esp. for students and those with handicaps. Indeed, my first visit didn't cost me a penny, thanks to a referral discount (since my wife referred me). Great office, great dentist, great staff!

About Hygienist: I forget the hygienist's name (Cathy?), but she did a great job. She got me out of the chair in about 40 minutes (it'd been six years since my last cleaning, so that seemed very fast to me). I had a little discomfort from the ultrasonic cleaner, but she quickly figured it out and made an adjustment that cleared it right up. My teeth feel great and I actually enjoyed my visit (a first!). These people are top notch. Go there!
