After years of poor dentists and bad experiences which left me fairly dental-phobic, I moved to Chicago about 8 years ago, and started with Dr. Tiersky based on a recommendation. I've been going to her since then.
Her approach is very low key and matter of fact, which certainly helps thing along. She works quickly, also something I like. She also involves you in those "either way" decisions. For example, I had a very old crown soon needing replacement. She said "I doubt it'll last a year; it might make it 6 months, but it also might fall out tomorrow", giving me the information to make my own decision on what I wanted to do and when.
Staff has been very friendly, and so far have handled all the insurance stuff - I just show up for the appt. and leave at the end. My comment on cost above should be n/a - I don't pay attention, and don't monitor my insurance co-pay. I'm more concerned with hassle-free dentistry, and that's what I get here.
Total of 2 cleanings per year times 8 years plus a handful of fillings and 2 crowns, so enough work done hopefully to make an informed view.
