I am writing this review because I never want anyone to experience what I did at the hands of Dr. Maurer. I went to Dental Specialty to have a wisdom tooth removed. When he started to extract it, the deepest part of the tooth felt like it was being ripped from a live nerve bed. He stopped for a moment and when I told him I couldn't put the pain into words, he told me I wasn't feeling pain, it was only pressure. He then reached back in my mouth and continued to yank and twist the tooth out until I let out a blood-curdling scream from the excrutiating sharpness of the pain. It was beyond anything I could endure. The tooth suddenly dislodged. The experience was terrifying. He hurt me, he did not listen to me, he just continued. Afterwards as I tried to tell him how much it hurt, he even sternly told me I wasn't listening to him and if I was truly in pain, I would still be in pain.. His treatment of me was cruel and unempathetic. He got angry every time I used the word "pain." My tooth is healing fine, but the trauma of the experience has left me disturbed and I feel compelled to warn others. co-worker told me she had 4 wisdom teeth removed (also while awake) and felt no such pain at all during the procedure.
About Front Desk: Front desk was very kind and helpful.
