My experience with Dr. Mashouf and his staff was brilliant. Although having braces is uncomfortable, the staff really listened to my requests and accommodated them. Everyone in this office is so sweet, and willing to help. Dr. Mashouf has an outstanding chairside manner; humble, extremely knowledgeable; and a very polite gentleman.
Payment in full upfront gave me a 7% discount.

2nd grade: Top braces and spacer put in place.
3rd: Full set of braces and brackets put in place.
5th: Full set of braces and brackets taken off.
6 months later I receive my adult teeth - came in even more crooked than my baby teeth. Canines came in sideways.
End of 5th: Full set of braces and brackets put back on.
Beginning of 8th: All brackets taken off, top braces removed. A wire lining my bottom teeth is connected to the bottom braces. I am given a retainer for my top set.
Middle of 9th grade: Wire breaks off from age (Dr. Mashouf forgot it was in there) during a soccer game. Luckily, I am unharmed. My parents agree that this is the end of my treatment and the bottom braces are removed.
I was told that the second set of braces/brackets was free of charge, but I wonder WHY I was ever given the first set in the first place. Incompetency? The Dr. personally shaved down my canines without my permission, and then he tried for a half hour (I was 13 at the time) to talk me into a surgery where he would break my jaw and realign it - no more overbite. I asked him the medical reasoning, he told me "in case I ever want to become a model." Form your own opinions.
The staff was always nice and all but 1 canine gives me a perfect smile.

My son was a patient of this office when Dr Mashouf used to practice in San Francisco. He is an excellent specialist, knowledgeable and good with kids. We had to start treatments early because of the extranumeral tooth that required surgery. We went through extenders braces and retainers.
Dr Mashouf has a wonderful staff - you feel like you are visiting a family when you step into this office. Everyone is attentive; there are prizes for kids who floss well, beautiful decor.
Unfortunately Dr Mashouf does not practice in San Francisco any more. We miss him and his wonderful staff!

Dr. Mashouf is a wondeful orthodontist. He is caring and gentle and put me at ease from our first visit. I would recommend him to anyone
