Dr. Lauson and staff are very professional and have cured my TMD completely. The treatment was comprehensive and thorough. Thank you Dr. Lauson and team for helping me feel my very best!

I received TMD treatment through this doctor & all I can say is it hasn't been good. I feel I was mislead at the beginning by the staff being very nice & promising good success with treatment.
Instead the treatment has made me worse & now there no way to fix the new damage that has already been done. My jaw joints are worse than when I started & every visit I had I felt like I wasn't give the time as needed by the doctor. I've gotten worse symptoms since the splint that was given & unfortunately these problems now are forever. I've had lots of days now where I just want to give up, bc I feel so damaged. Every day that I was in that splint - the months is more damage I got. I really feel this treatment could be better if the doctor focused more time in doing testing with TMJ patients instead (bc this is something that requires time, not just a few seconds). There were no bite or impressions taken to see where bite was or any of that. For regular braces I'm sure people are fine, but for TMJ treatment not.

Dr. Lauson provided an orthotic for TMJ treatment which ended up causing oral thrush. I had to discontinue the treatment or persist with the thrush. When I decided to discontinue the treatment, there was a hefty penalty. While that penalty was referenced in the contract I signed, no consideration was given to the fact that this treatment caused a health problem. I strongly encourage you to not consider this practice, and to seek a second opinion if you are already in their care.
About Front Desk: Staff is friendly but provided me misinformation about the expansion of a closed suture in adult males.

I saw Dr. Lauson for TMJ treatment years ago. Everytime I went in for a check-up there was no improvement in the clicking of the jaw. So he adjusted my guard to pull my jaw more forward. Wearing the guard like that caused me
to have burning mouth syndrome and my front teeth took such a hit that they were throbbing (they soon died after that). When I told him all that was going on he told his assistant to grind my guard down to flat and that he was done with me. She asked him if he wanted to check the guard and my bite and he said no. My dentist told me that if he didn't wean me off the guard I would be in a world of hurt and 7 years later I am still miserable. This guy changed my life and not in a good way. I was also told that my jaw is arthritic now from being held out of position that long.

This is the best TMD doc I have ever found!. I have been in tx for 2 years and have received relief for the first time in 25 years from my TMJ pain. He is caring and efficient and informative. Best thing I ever did!!

Been going to Dr Lauson for 6 years now. 3 years in an expansion retainer and 3+ in braces. I've been told repeatedly that I will be done shortly, I've been told this for the last year and a half. I no longer trust this Dr. and currently looking for a new orthodontist to get me through the rest of my treatment or to remove my braces.
