Dr Dunwody treated both our children. The plans were explained thoroughly and the results were great. He worked with us on some tough issues, and we truly appreciated his expert recommendations. He and his staff are friendly and professional. I would highly recommend Dr. Dunwody to anyone needing orthodontic services. Even our current dentist uses him and is very happy with his work.

Dr. Dunwody treated me for orthodontics 15 years ago. He changed my life forever. He does not believe in pulling teeth, as most orthodontists do. I began as a patient with a mangled smile, buck teeth, and a severely recessed chin. After several years of total treatment, l left his office with a beautiful smile and a new confidence I never thought could be possible. Dr. Dunwody believes the perfect, natural smile is completely achievable for almost everyone. He believes that careful, steady treatment provides permanent results as opposed to quick, rushed treatment that is certain to regress over the years. After some recent dental trauma, he is again treating me. He is always a gentleman of the highest ethical standards. His reputation among dental colleagues in my area is phenomenal (I have checked him out!). He will certainly treat my own children if they indeed need orthodontics. His facility is superb, his manner is excellent, and his level of treatment is above and beyond any expectations. I have recommended him to many people over the years, all of whom have had an excellent result and positive experience. I highly recommend this orthodontist.

I had an overbite and Dr. Dunwoody put braces on me. I had them on for about 5 years, way too long in my opinion. He is overly demanding, and always blames you for the delays. I know at least 2 other people that went to Dr. Dunwoody and were unsatisfied with him. I developed TMJ problems while I had my braces on and he was very unhelpful. I don't blame him for the TMJ problems, I think it was just coincidence considering I had the braces on for so many years. But he wasn't helpful when it happened, and constantly denied that changes in the braces could affect the TMJ- I found out that he was wrong. He likes to grind down your teeth to "make them fit better", but it never seems to help, and he never seems to stop wanting to do it. I finally had to demand that he stop grinding my teeth. When he was removing my braces he was having trouble and got frustrated, and left pits on surfaces of my teeth after ripping them off. Compared to the experiences of my friends that went to other orthodontists, I wish I had gone to a different one too. The facilities are nice and the technicians are nice, but remember that it is the orthodontist that makes all the decisions, does all the important work, and will determine your outcome.

Dr. Dunwody treated me with complete disrespect. He made many promises about the results of my braces that never came true. I had my braces on for 5 years and my teeth look almost identical to how they looked before I started treatment. I followed all of his recommendations and still had no results. I understand that all patients require different treatment times, however the dentist should not blame YOU for such differences.
In addition, I requested a permanent bottom retainer and he refused, stating that he would not give a permanent retainer to a patient that did not follow his guidelines (which I did).
I was absolutely disgusted with his service and the way he treated his workers. The women in the office were very, very nice and everytime I was in the office, I experienced him treating them with the utmost disrespect.
