. IF I COULD GO BACK IN TIME I WOULD HAVE LEFT THE SECOND THEY TOLD ME THAT I WOULDN’T BE ALLOWED IN THE ROOM. My son was seen by Dr. Banker 12 years ago when he was 6 for a checkup. He wasn’t complaining of any pain or issues with his teeth but she told me that he “needed” multiple crowns. I can’t remember exactly how many he “needed” but it was at least 5. The day that my son had his appointment I was informed that I would not be allowed in the room with him during the procedure. It took them a couple of hours because apparently my son was crying and fighting them the whole time. He was scared and I wasn’t in the room with him and he didn’t know what was going on. When they brought him out to me his eyes were swollen and I could tell that he had cried a lot. He was pretty drugged up and didn’t say much but was relieved to see me. I can still see the look in his eyes and it breaks my heart. They told me that they had to give him medicine because he was throwing up and that they had to restrain him for his safety (this was before they used papoose boards for restraining). My son fell asleep on the ride home. When he woke up he was hysterical and crying. He told me that they were telling him to shut up, and covering his mouth with their hands. He thought that they were trying to hurt him. He said that they were holding him down and trying to keep him from breathing. I don’t know what really happened in that room but I do know that my son had two huge bruises on his legs and one on his arm from being restrained and he walked with a limp for over a week. I also know that they didn’t stop the procedure when they were having a difficult time nor did they come out to make me aware of the situation. My sons crowns all fell off within months. I am not sure why they fell off but my son refused to have them fixed. He dealt with pain and sensitivity on what was left of his teeth until he lost his last one at age 13. HE IS NOW 18 AND HAS NOT SEEN A DENTIST SINCE. Every time we talk about seeing a dentist we both end up in tears. IF I COULD GO BACK IN TIME I WOULD HAVE LEFT THE SECOND THEY TOLD ME THAT I WOULDN’T BE ALLOWED IN THE ROOM.

My daughter had been going to Dr. Banker since she was 3 and she is now 11. We changed dentist after she finally told us how uncomfortable she was at Dr. Banker. She never lets the parents be present for the office visit so we have no idea what is going on behind the door. Apparently my daughter was crying almost every time because of it hurting. It turns out we have found she has a hereditary condition in her mouth of which Banker never informed us of causing her to be missing many permanent teeth and have a very sensitive mouth. She also pulled teeth that did not have permanent teeth coming in under there. Therefore this leaves us with no other option but to get implants later on. She performed other procedures without telling us why. We would not recommend her of you want to know what is going on with your child's mouth.

I have been taking my childen to see Dr Banker for 5 years. I have been pleased with the overall quality of care. Her early treatment of my daughter has resulted in orthodontic braces being optional. Additionally, she is very good about making the distinction between necessary and recommended care. She does not seem to push services on her patients. Her prices are more than fair. The staff is pleasant. My children do not dread going to the dentist now. Finally, unlike many other dentists in the area, there is no 6-8 month waits for appointments.
