My daughter had 2 sets of braces with Dr. Dematteis. When I lost my job and was unable to pay the balance, he refused to remove her braces and let me make payment arrangements. My daughter ended up wearing her braces over a year too long and when she went to see her regular dentist told me that her teeth were rotting due to the braces being on still. They needed to come off. No other orthodontist would take them off due to her work being from another orthodontist. I had to call the state board of orthodontists and demand that they be taken off. I could not ASK, I had to demand. Long story short, I went in and the Dr. Dematteis was not the understanding dr that I had become used to and his office manager was the nastiest person I ever had to deal with. When the money was coming in from my insurance it was no problem and they treated my dauhter great. When they knew that I had called the state and told me the trick to getting them removed, they were upset and ended up ripping my daughter braces off. Her gums bleed for 3 mo straight and was so sensitive to hot and cold she lost 15lbs. Her teeth are premently ruined with all the enamel removed where the braces were. Great service until I could not pay then no compassion at all.

I went to several Orthodontist for evaluations prior to seeing Dr. Dematteis. I found Dr. Dematteis extremely competent and helpful. I am extremely pleased with the results. He is up on the latest techniques and when seeing the results and hearing the experiences of co-workers who went elsewhere, I'm glad I made the choice that i did.
