Read Reviews for Dr. J Davis
We are an extremely loyal family and have been with this doctor for more than a decade, but over the years we have seen that his attention to patients has become more and more impersonal, his treatment unprofessional to the point that he does not hear you out, always has the last word and has become greedy and dishonest. We have had a series of unpleasant experiences that have forced us to finally leave his office a year ago. His reputation is good so far, but we believe it will not be for long if he keeps this arrogant and unfair treatment up.

The office is pretty nice, lots of book and games for kids to play while they waiting. However they don't have digital Xrays, that I feel the modern office should have espesially in California with so much sun radiation.
Doctor and other personnel were very nice. My 2 yo daughter had her check up and cleaning and didn't freak out, which was a great sign.
My other consern was that he (doctor) wanted to pull one of her tooth out, because it had discoloration and it MIGHT affect her permament tooth in the future. I felt he should have suggested to see us back in 6 months or so and see if its getting worse or not and them make a decision to pull it out or monitor it farther.
And lastly, I did't liked the fact that he suggested we do general anestesia to put some fillings as an only option (which was by far the most expensive and hardest on kids). My daughter was very calm and I felt like we could have done fine with a gas at first.

Good but large and impersonal practice. Expensive if you don't have insurance, and they don't offer any cash discounts.

Two kids. Kid number one, extremely anxious on his first visit. Dr. Davis lifts him up off the exam table to reposition him, whacks his head on the exam light above him. It was an accident, but I feel it was done in haste. Needless to say, we still have trouble getting him to the dentist to this day.
Kid number two, she is our tough one. Even so, when she had teeth to be pulled, we found Dr. Davis to be extremely rough with her and exhibited little concern for her discomfort. My daughter was very traumatized by this visit. We are switching dentists at this time.
I think my overall impression of the office is that although it is very nice, well-decorated and has video games for the kids to play, it seems like the overall goal is to get as many patients in and out as possible. I'm left feeling that my children are products going down an assembly line rather than patients who could use a little individual care and attention.

Dr. Davis has been my daughters' dentist since they were old enough to go to one. We have had nothing but exemplary service: from the staff hygienists showing the girls how to floss to Dr. Davis letting us know the progress of tooth growth and when to anticipate x-rays, braces, etc. Cost estimates for anything beyond routine cleanings are provided and his professional office staff are good about scheduling follow-up exams.
This is a busy office. There is a small, open "playroom" adjoining the main waiting room for more "active" children, which allows parents to wait in the tastefully decorated anteroom and still see their children; but, the wait is usually so short that you won't be able to read through a magazine! My only regret is that Dr. Davis limits his practice to pediatric dentistry. My oldest daughter now has to go to a "grown-up" dentist! :o(

Dr. Davis and his staff are always very professional and they
always make my kids feel very comfortable, even from their very first check up at 2 years of age. I highly recommend them!

Dr. Davis's office is very professional and he and his associates provide the best of care. He goes out of his way to explain complicated procedures and he always listens to what the parents have to say. My daughter had to have many cavities filled and I felt very comfortable having him do the work. The staff is very friendly too!

The doctor and staffs are very friendly. The place is pretty relaxing and kids love it. They apparently wants to make the children confortable while they are in the office/on the chair. The regular visits are true pleasant. However, as a parent who wants to be on the "conservative" side of treatment, I can feel the agrresiveness in recommended treatments and the pressure. Naturally I hope doctors put the patients long-term health interest above the revenue generation. I will not complain about the cost as long as the treatments recommended are medically nessacery and the result is positive. In summary, it's a nice place to go for both kids and parents if you know waht you want, or want you need is regular dental hygienes.

Good overall, have had 1 experience that was not pleasant, but overall I think its a good dentist office. Problem was with nervous child, and staff was not that understanding. When the kids were not aprehensive, so service was great.

The office and waiting rooms are wonderful. The staff is great at initially reducing my kids fears of dental work. My son was fine with all work done but my daughter has become extremely fearfull of dental work since her visits at this office. She was seen 3 times (1 cleaning & 2 attempts at filling 3 small cavities & sealing her back teeth) once with laughing gas (which did not work). Her fear has grown so great that I will not be bringing her back to this office to complete her work (1 cavity and all sealants). One of her greatest fears is the bite guard which the staff requires her to use but provide no other solution. For kids who are not fearful this is a great office but I'd be cautious if your child is at all reluctant to have dental work done. Finally, don't expect a smile from the receptionist who completes the billing. She'll smile once she receives the money if she's not busy.
