Looking for a new dentist for my kids! We've been seeing Dr. James for years, but realy do not like the changes in that office!
From what I was told, Dr. James no longer owns the office. But she seems to still be working there for awhile. The old staff are gone, and the new staff are just not as competent and friendly.
My kids felt the changes in the routine without even being told. One of the new staff was so rough and demanding that my boy said on the way home he never wanted tocome back to that office again. How fast things can change. Other parents have told me the same thing aobout Dr James office. Besides the new staff not being as compassionate and nice, I felt that there were so many more patients being appointed. That little office was so crowded and they were really late to even start the appointment even though we are always on time. I am so disappointed with all the changes and really wonder why the wonderful staff all are gone.

Dr. James is very professional, kind and reassuring with her patients, yet determined to completele the procedure, which can be a good thing if you don't want to spend the money and come back in a few weeks to try again...

When we had our baby, we asked around and we were told that Bergen James was the best. We went to her offices and were very impressed with the very child oriented faciltiies. She took a lot of time showing our children how to brush their teeth.
Great pediatric dentist--highly recommended.

Dr James has sold her office to another doctor that she had working for her. She is retiring and the office is a mess. Everybody is new, not trained and not friendly anymore. My son went for his cleaning and we were helped by 3 different nurses and we waited a long time to see the dentist. Office is too busy like a clinic and it costs more, the prices went up! We don't have insurance and the price went up over 10 dollars for just a kid cleaning. They charge double than what my dentist charges!

My 2 year old has seen Dr. James a couple of times now and the office is wonderful for children. The waiting room has books and even a video game for those waiting for appts and the rooms have movies showing to distract from the work. Dr. James was very good with my son and her assistants were especially gentle. They sing songs while doing the cleaning, help parents to hold and reassure the child, and give good feedback on how we are doing so far with the nightly brushing battle! It is still a bit scary to him, but then there is the toybin to choose a toy from afterward, and ultimately he walks out of there with a pleasant experience. They have given us timers to help motivate the brushing and flashing toothbrushes. It all amounts to impressing on him that taking care of your teeth is fun! So important at this young age. I wish had had such a dentist!

Nice and friendly dog to help ease kids nerves! Her name is Chotchka and she helped make my sons visit very positive!

Our kids love Dr James. She is very personable, and the office is completely set up for kids (games and all), plus sitting at their side is encouraged.
We have VERY positive times every visit.
Cost? We have delta, so I think she is comparable in the area...

Very Child friendly staff & Dr. James makes kids feel at ease. Our family travels all the way from Sacramento to see Dr. James! We lived in SF and moved up about 6 years ago, but we have not been able to find a dentist for our son, eventhough we visted 4 different dental offices (mixed results - not too happy). After a while we decided to return Dr. James and make the trip into The City every 6 months.

Dr. James and the staff are wondeful! As a person who was always terrified of the dentist, I wanted my son to have a better experience. The staff is great, friendly, and makes sure that the child is happy and comfortable. He loves the office and all the games / toys that are avilable. best of all, he loves Chotcka (Dr. James' dog that is constantly running around the office).
The only stress is finding parking prior to the appointment!

Busy office but we are very happy with her treatment of our daughter now almost six years old. Never any problems. They have a cute dog that my daughter loves and excellent office staff. They make you pay in advance then get reimbursed by insurance.
