Read Reviews for Dr. Shahram Taheri
My daughter had a HORRIBLE experience at Dr Taheris office. He was rude, impatient, and worst of all traumatized my daughter, that now she has a huge fear of the dentist. I never took my second daughter to Dr. Taheri, and she is fine! Dr Taheri was impatient with my daugheter, very rough and the whole time the assistant was telling me how she hated her job and she wanted to go back to school to be a realtor!

Dr. Taheri is an excellent dentist. After researching many pediatric dentists, I found Dr. Taheri to be the most experienced, knowledgeable, and caring dentist for my two children. The quality of his work, and expertise in pediatrics was the main reason why my children have been his patients since they were very young. In addition, Dr. Taheri is an associated professor at UCSF dental school which makes him connected with the all the latest techniques, technology, and improvements in pediatric dentistry. He is the best!

I strongly advise all parents against taking their children to see this dentist. I took my 3 yr old son to see Dr. Taheri who told me he had eight cavities. He advised me to fill half on one visit and half on the other. At the first session to fill the cavities on the first half of my son's mouth which was a horrible experience. My son was scared and crying and they were very rushed and finally asked me to leave the room while they strapped my son down. After the negative experience and the bad feeling I had with Dr. Taheri I decided to get a second opinion. The 2nd dentist (who was wonderful; very patient with my son) looked at the X-rays from prior to my son getting his teeth filled on the first half. He told me he did not see any of the three cavities Dr. Taheri had told me my son still had, nor did he see any indication of cavities on my son's original X-Rays. My son only has one cavity that his new dentist is going to be able to fill without anesthesia or restraints!!!!! My suspicion is this dentist subjected my son to an unnecessary and traumatic procedure for nothing more than the almost 2k insurance payment.

Average wait time from check in to being called in to see a hygeinist or the dentist is excessive. This adds to the stress of taking a child to the dentist. Neither Dr. Taheri or his assistants has a particularly empathetic, gentle or supportive chairside manner. Use of threats to "calm" upset children is counterproductive.
