Read Reviews for Dr. Mark Hochberg
WORST PEDIATRIC DENTIST!!! Stay away. Took our 6 yr old daughter to see Dr Mark. First visit the office manager was as rude as can be. Fine, I'm not there for the hospitality. Met Dr Mark and immediately I felt pressure to sedate my daughter for the filling even though she could not have been more cooperative during her check up, giggling and smiling the whole time. Came in for treatment the following week, and again sedation was pushed before she was even seen. I made it clear this was not an option to sedate (I can see Dr Mark is not happy with this). Treatment begins with gas and five minutes later a nurse brings my daughter to me who is upset because she was scared of the gas, as I'm soothing her, Dr Mark comes out to the waiting room to tell me he is not treating her. It's sedation or leave!!! What happened to patience, understanding, compassion and nurturing a child so they aren't afraid of the dentist?!?!?! Never, ever stepping foot in that office again. Run, don't walk!!!
About Front Desk: The one star if for the office manager who could not be more rude, ignorant or condescending, would give 5 stars to Janine, a lovely lady at the desk who was the only reason I didn't start crying right in the lobby after being treated so terribly.

STAY AWAY!!! His office is horrible with customer service, his office manager is rude and very condescending. The doctor never returns calls. The treatment is too expensive not to be more caring to their patients. I would never return nor will I reccommend this guy, whom gives 15 minute exams for $260. NO I WOULDNT RECCOMMEND.

Expensive - brought 9 year old daughter in for examination and cleaning, was not worth it. Felt like I was in a factory. The facility itself is decent, but a mediocre experience overall.

Took my 5 years old to this doctor. He rushed the exam. Did not make the child feel comfortable. Additionally, told me that the child had too many cavities and the only way to treat them would be under full anesthesia in a hospital setting.
I left amazed and speechless. Seemed like someone who didnt have a knack for working with kids.
Plus, when I asked for the record where they marked which teeth had the problems, the assistant showed me attitude and said she could not share it with me, but would email me the information (???).
charged me $215.

$205 bucks for less than 15 minutes!
For small children (3-5) this practice will suit if they want to play and be entertained while they are treated and not be traumatized. The waiting area has an assortment of video games and toys.
However, with the large group of dentists you never are guaranteed of seeing the same dentist unless you request it. We've seen 3 different dentists and chair-side manners are generally good. The lead doctors in the practice are very patient with small children. The prices are high for what you get - $205, for literally a 5 minute check and typically 5-8 minute cleaning (if you could even call it that.) Maybe some children can't sit in a chair for more than 15 minutes, but that's another story.
The going rate in Manhattan is high but I think if you're a working middle class parent you should look for another dental group if your concern is price. Front desk is ambivelant at best. They do not partticipate in any insurance program!

Hochberg has zero regard for patient (and/or guardian) concerns. It's his way or the highway. Don't question how he administers care or you'll find yourself out the door with a curt, "Good bye."

We took our 19 mn old son to Dr. Hochberg for his first dental visit. The exam was very quick, lasting only 30 seconds at best. Dr. Hochberg quoted us an "estimated" average price of $4100 to completely restore four of our son's teeth, under general anesthesia at Lenox Hill. Another DMD, directly affiliated with one of the large NY hospitals quoted us an "exact" cost of $2600 to completely restore five teeth. I don't know, maybe Dr. Hochberg's that good, but I can't afford twice as much!
