I had totake my child to see Dr Mathews when my dentist was out of town and I can't begin to describe what a horrible experience it was! He charged me $300 to evaluate my son's tooth which was infected. He was very rude to me and talked to me in a very angry voice. My son was scared of him! I didn't even get any treatment done; he just wrote a prescription! I will definitely never go there again even for an emergency.

I would strongly recommend never using this guy for anything relating to your kids. He is rude, obnoxious and has zero patience when dealing with children. The hygenists there are amazing. Wonderful people that do outstanding work with children and they are great to be around. We gave "Dr." Matthews two tries, thinking that maybe his first hissy fit he was just having a bad day. It was not the case. Our second visit was just as bad. If ever there was a dentist that should not be working with children this is the guy. Please don't waste your money to have your children even more fearful of the dentist than most of them already are. Go to someone that cares and knows how to work with young children

Dr. Matthews was wonderful and his staff of dental hygenist was also great. I'm excited to have found a place for my son.
My only area of improvement would be for the women who handled the front desk area, the 2 times I've been to the office she was unfriendly and seemed as though she was doing me the favor. Her being the first face you see isn't at all a reflextion of the service you get once you've passed the front desk area everyone was wonderful and warm.

Nice atmosphere; but that's it. As long as you just smile and pay, then everything is great. Don't ask why you are left waiting so long or why your appointment was cancelled for another patient who is new or you will not be liked by the dentist. He does know how to have parties for the kids though.

Dr. Matthews has been my children's dentist since they were in preschool. It all started when "Captain Molar" came to my son's preschool for a demonstration. My children actually look forward to going to the dentist. The staff is so nice, and we have always felt right at home. The kids always enjoyed going to Dr. Matthews' Halloween & skating parties. They love picking goodies from the treasure chest and getting a balloon. Now my children are 18 yrs. & 15 yrs. We wouldn't go anywhere else:-)

The staff there is wonderful and the hygienist is terrific. The office is nice and clean and it's easy to get appts. However, the dentist, is awful. Honestly, we have been going for 2 years now and my son has had extensive work done. Dr. Matthews is not patient with him at all. He's only 4 year old. My son is very good but this last time, he gagged on a bite guard and Dr. Matthews snapped at him and told him he had to go home. He was very impatient with him and he was running behind that day so he had no time for him. My son had to be pre-medicated that morning and we spent over an hour there waiting and then, b/c of an involuntary reflex and Dr. Matthews impatience, we had to leave. We are finding a new dentist. He might be okay with older kids but he has NO patience with younger kids if they do not act perfectly. I was so sad b/c my son thought he did something wrong. His staff is truly great but he, himself, should not be seeing young kids.

I have had 3 children who have been/still are patients of Dr. Matthews. I cannot imagine taking my children anywhere else. The whole office staff is friendly and professional. Over the last 18 years I have felt comfortable with the services from Dr. Matthews. We have never received any misinformation or unnecessary treatment. This doctor and his staff are a class act!

I drive the miles just to take my kids to his office!
We have several dentists that are closer, but they
could never match the service we get at this office!!

Dr. Matthews's treatment was NO professional. Their office staff is very bad! Nice atmosphere, you pay for it!

My two children have been going to Dr. Matthews for several years. My son is autistic, and while he does not look forward to going to a dentist, has cooperated very well with Dr. Matthews and his staff. We have been exceptionally pleased with the level of care received, as well as the courtesy and professionalism of the entire staff.
