Dr. Brown in our experience is NOT for the very young (toddler age) children. No one tried to warm my child up to the office, the Dr basically told me to hold my child down while he forcefully stuck his explorer and mirror in her mouth and forcefully scratched around looking for (almost creating) decay. He recommended a LONG list of things that MUST be done and told me he would ONLY do this and nothing else, not just one thing or two things but it was basically his way or NO way and I could find someone else. We left the office with NO toy No sticker or anything. And we did find another dentist who was sweet, gentle, kind and cared more obviously for my child and her experience. He did not recommend this long list of things to do to her at such a young age and she left that office happy Smiling saying "nice dentist mommy".
Also wanted to note Dr. Brown is very fond of using mercury fillings, if you are not interested in your child having this in their mouth or capping all problem teeth choose another dentist there are plenty in the area.

Dr. Brown was my pediatric dentist from ages 3-18 years of age! His practice, staff, and professional skills always exceeded my expectations. Dr. Brown and his staff are helpful, knowledgable, and kind. My children also have their dental work done by Dr. Brown and his staff. I wouldn't feel comfortable going anywhere else!

My 3 year old had a cavitiy but was in no pain. I took him to Dr. Brown's office and was told he needed a crown. The crown was stainless steel which, after doing some research, I found out contains mercury. I asked if there was any other alternative, like gold, and he said no. He also said that because of my son age, he would do a conscience sedation @ $300.00 even though my son gave no trouble during the visit and cleaning. If you check, you'll find that there are reports of death from this sedation, although it is extremely rare. The mercury in the caps, which can lead to cancer, bothered me so much that I had nightmares. While we were waiting for the appointment time to come, I went to my dentist and told him what had happened. He said bring my child in and just let him look at him for a second opinion. I did. It all ended up with my son getting a tooth colored filling (no mercury) and no sedation. In fact the cavity wasn't close to the nerve and my dentist didn't even give him a shot of novacaine! I remained with my child the whole time and he was never in any pain. My child was more excited about the two toys he got than the sound of the drill and asked me, as we were, leaving when he could go back. Cost < 125

He was great with both of my kids who needed some extensive work. Very experienced and professional. I would certainly recommend him.

Dr. Brown has been great for my daughter, who at one point was terrified of the dentist, and now it is almost a treat for her to go (even with her first visit to him resulting in a crown and 2 other cavities filled) If that doesn't say something about him and his wonderful staff, I don't know what else would.

We Love Dr. Brown, we used him for 6 yrs while in Vabeach, I wholeheartitly recommend him. My son was 3 when he first began seeing Dr. Brown and he was NEVER upset or afraid to go to the dentist. And my teenage daugher loved him too.Thanks Dr. Brown, we will miss you! Karyn Cusimano
