My son is 11 and just went to the orthodontist. I told him Dr. Thoa Nguyen recommended both my son and daughter get an orthodontic spacer to make room for teeth to come in. My son was 3 and my daughter 5. It was $500 for each. The orthodontist said this was not neccessary and should not be done at such a young age. He said you should wait until the adult teeth are moving in and that the teeth just move back after the spacer is taken off at that young of an age. I have just switched my family to a new dental practice. I'm very angry she would suggest something that's not appropriate and have my kids go through that stress just so she could make more money.
