David Atherton is a nice guy. However, he does not treat cavities which have led to half of my teeth rotting more than they should have. Make sure to ask about dark spots you see on x-rays because they indicate cavities. If they say that it is not a big deal, remember that it is not a big deal until it is. I would rather have a small filling rather than a large one which significantly reduces the lifespan of a tooth.

Dr. Atherton is a fabulous dentist! We were lucky enough to discover this practice when our youngest son fell and wound up with a dental emergency. All three of our sons have seen him ever since - the care is first rate, the staff is wonderful - it's just a great experience all the way around. I highly recommend him!!!

"Dr Dave" as the kids call him, is great. Friendly, but honest with the kids, receptive to anxious children (my daughter!), and they even have a "quiet room" when the procedure might be a little scary, so that a parent can sit right there and hold their hand. My son is older but still sees him for another few years..they cut you off at 18...haha, and he thinks he's cool...so that's as good as you can get. They are very busy and it is difficult to get in...you really do have to schedule a ways out..but they can get you in right away if there's an emergency too. Downside for new patients is they only schedule during school hours, and then they reserve those coveted afternoon slots for high school age kids. Oh well.

This dentist is fantastic. My son loves to go see him. His office looks outdated but that doesn't concern me. I would highly recommend this dentist. I can't really compare prices because my son is young and hasn't needed any treatment outside of our insurance.

Dr. Dave is a celebrity in our house! My two boys, 4 and 8 fight over whoes turn it is to see the dentist. He is fun and his support staff are excellent as well. My 8 year old just had a filling and said it just felt funny and didn't really hurt. Very different from my experiece with dentists as a child!

I've brought my boys to Dr Dave since they were 2...and they LOVE to see Dr Dave...not my experience as a child visiting a Dentist!
Dr Dave makes them laugh and talks to them like they're adults....all the while making sure I (Mom) know what's going on.

Dr. Dave is the best dentist. He is great about explain what he is doing and letting the kids fell like they are in control of what is happening in their mouths. He is great with the kids and even has got down on the floor with my son to show him how one of the toys worked.

Dr Atherton is s pediatric dentist, so the review is for my daughter. She has been seeing him since she was 2 or something like that.
"Dr Dave" is very nice, really good with kids, making funny noise and faces for every tooth he checks...
They also have Disney videos for kids but we did not need to use that.
He doesn't over-sell services and when my daughter had a tiny cavity (baby teeth), decided to not treat it but instead apply fluoride and make us (parents) focus on cleaning it very well. The cavity was eventually gone.
Another small cavity needed to be treated, and he was able to treat it without pain killer, as it was only on the surface.
My daughter graduated to a "big kid chair" without problem and was waiting for her cavity fixing appointment with impatience. :-)
There was no fear of the drill, as he only used "a special tiny toothbrush" ;-)
This is really a testimony of how good that Dr is IMO.

Extremely knowledgeable and thorough dentist; he's great with the kids and does a terrific job explaining any dental treatment needed. The cost is on the expensive side, but it's in line with the other pediatric dentists in the area--plus, you get what you pay for. I moved to Issaquah but am willing to make the 25-minute drive for the excellent dental care my kids get.
