I left with my son after he "would not cooperate" for a filling and was told he would have to be sedated. I would have to pay all up front ($365) for the visit if he would be seen. I offered to pay part (like $250) if we could go ahead and do it since I had taken a day off from work for this, but was not prepared for such a large payment (it's thanksgiving week). I told them I couldn't take another day from work and if they didn't do it today, I wasn't sure if or when I could get it done at all. No, pay in full. I walked out with my child as it is extremely clear that they do not care about the child's needs, but the almighty dollar. This was horrible...my son will go with a cavity getting bigger because this dentist was worried he might have to bill for the last $100. btw, I am an early childhood specialist, and all I see there is that they herd children through with no regard to anyone. my children had an excellent dentist in Wilmington, nc that had nothing to hide, so he actually allowed parents to be with their child during such traumatic experiences. he specializes in pediatric dentistry. If my insurance will cover, I will drive 6 hours to get a dentist worth having that will care about the child and not lining their pocket.
